You're so vain, you probably think this wall is about you.

Today, I wandered around Berlin with a heavy heart and a lump in my throat. Innocent lives lost through senseless, gruesome violence and this ever creeping fear of mortality. I carried these emotions with me today; touching the remains of The Berlin Wall with my bare hands and feeling the menacing power of the 4 metre wall that caused so much fear and pain. A city that has suffered so much and a country that has carried out the most despicable crimes against humanity.
Truth be told, whenever I see upsetting stories on the news, I always start humming "Imagine" by John Lennon. In a way, it's become my coping mechanism because during the darkest events of this world... there is always love and there is always kindness.
Just like the West Berliners helped the East Berliners to escape; the people of Manchester came together to help each other through one of the toughest nights.
I do not believe the world is a scary place. I do not believe the world is a bad place.
I believe that love has always and will always win. No matter how awful a situation may be; there will always be acts of bravery, kindness and love. ๐Ÿ–ค
