“Thank you so very much for your generosity to our family. The scholarship given to us to attend Camp of the Woods continued to bring us closer to the Lord, to our faith community, and COTW staff. What a gift!...The Biblical teachings always bless our family at COTW, and we feel the Lord deepening all of our relationships with him while we are there. On one of our first days there, we were playing mini golf together, and our youngest child started singing a song that we'd never heard her sing before: "The Fruit of the Spirit". She taught us all the song as well and we ended up singing it the rest of the week! Also, she never wanted to leave her children's group in the morning until the last minute, which was sweet. My husband and I, and many times our sons (when they weren't with their grade level groups), really enjoyed the daily sermons on Jonah, which we still quote... We quote the last line of the last sermon of the week, saying, "Trust Him (God)!" The special activities we do together from hiking to canoeing really help us bond together as a family, and many times we meet people during these activities and have meaningful conversations. My husband befriended one of the COTW staff members who ran the chess match, and felt encouraged in his faith walk by him. Also, our COTW server has remained in touch with us via email, and we've been exchanging prayer requests with each other. Just a real gift to connect with so many people from so many places who are following Jesus... and a blessing to be in such a place of beauty! This is one of our favorite weeks of the entire year!”

"LIFT radically transformed the way I think about and approach missions. Each step of the way leading up to our trip to Ecuador last semester contributed immensely to my growth, from reaching out and learning to rely on the support of others to reading and discussing thought-provoking new ideas in the Missions Practicum class, God used every aspect to shape me and mold me in new ways. In his graciousness and mercy he continued to guide our group throughout the trip, allowing us to foster relationships with the loving members of the churches and organizations we partnered with, as well as guiding us to interactions and situations where we could observe him working in evident ways. It is incredible how God can use a diverse group of approximately 30 students as a unified force to spread the hope of the gospel through the love of Christ, while simultaneously growing each member and preparing them for the future. One of my lasting memories is of sharing dinner with and hearing the testimony of the U.S. ambassador to Ecuador, who we met at a church in Quito and who challenged each of us to pursue Christ's command to make disciples of the nations despite our vocation, skill set, or situation."
