I once believed having a skinny body, was a good looking body, and having one would help me fulfil happiness within my self. Being able to look in the mirror and see what society classifieds to be normal and pretty gave me a sense of belonging and that just might be enough for me to be happy.⠀
Being scared of putting on weight and my clothes not fitting me right meant I was doing something wrong, and I always worried about how much I was eating and calculating everything I consumed.⠀

These are just some of the worries that girls and women experience throughout their lives. ⠀

There is something special that happens to females when starting CrossFit. ⠀
They start CrossFit with goals to lose weight and maybe get that "bikini body" they think they have always wanted, but soon realise that looks just don't mean shit when it comes to CrossFit.⠀

We see it and hear about it all the time. These same women that once had the same worries about losing weight suddenly stop worrying and start celebrating their bodies.⠀

I am strong, confident, powerful and I am more than just looks. ⠀
⠀
At CrossFit, Women don't really worry whats on their scales but can damn sure recite all the weights they have lifted in the last month. ⠀
Getting strong is celebrated by how womens body's develop through ability not aesthetic.⠀
⠀
Food is energy to fuel their bodies, its not complicated its natural, and Women start to eat to enjoy. ⠀

CrossFit embraces all different shapes and sizes. We are not a carbon copy and thats what makes us so unique, we are not about how we look, we are about what we can do with our bodies.

This was one of the fundamental directives of Coach Glassman when he founded CrossFit. But do we follow it?⠀

Our 3- to 5-day-a-week training is awesome and obviously something that helps CrossFit athletes move forward on the continuum from sickness to fitness. However, a big part using our fitness is to be able to experience as many types of activities as possible. This is known as variance in training and allows you to apply your fitness in all directions.⠀
⠀
For many CrossFitters, constantly varied probably means running in a WOD, followed by some weight lifting and polished off with pull-ups. Is that varied? Yes. But are you challenging yourself outside of the box to learn and try new things? ⠀

Everything we do is valid and needs to be the base for all things in our lives ranging from loading groceries to picking up our kids to preparing for things like 5K runs. The key to putting Coach Glassman’s words into action is really using the fitness we have worked so hard to develop.⠀

So take advantage of this amazing weather we've been receiving, get outside and do something new!!
