Log press: 108kg first time ever trying this exercise and one I'll have to get use too.. competing in a strongman competition next weekend in Galway, qualifier for the Strongman all-irelands in May.. not expecting much just doing it for the laugh to see what it's like!! Another thing to keep my mind off powerlifting will do me good #strongman#logpress#firsttime
Deadlift practice. My weakness. Not my most confident movement. But I was years hating the shape of my legs..i worked at them loads..dieting,running and weights but all on my quads..stuck at a stand still in shape until I started isolating hamstrings massively weekly..then boom leg shape I was more happy with. Dont avoid anything even if you feel weak in it.. it could change your whole shape. If you wanna strengthen your core you gotta strenghten your back. You gotta hit Antagonist and agonist muscles of all major muscle groups or your shape won't develop enough. Even if I do look like baby when I train hamstrings and like a boss when I train quads. One aint much good without the other.
Squatz: 235x1 + a miss followed by front squats: 170x1, 140x3x5(set shown) last heavy session following next weekends IPO meet... felt very banged up today. I had very heavy sessions the last 2 weeks and my CNS really felt it today, barely made it out of the bed never mind into the gym... still it a 5kg pb on squat and I am very confident with this weeks recovery I'll be hitting a lot more on the squat on the day, weight this morning was 89.0kg delighted with weight as it won't be an issue cutting down, so I'll eat all around me this week :D 6 days out and I'm feeling pumped, also thanks to @mattyc_galway_powerlifting for the spot and the pro knee wrapping made all the difference today #powerlifting#strength#squats#strengthtraining#supertraining#sbdireland#vodi#irishpowerlifting#nopainnogain#gymmotivation#fitness#irishfitfam#ukfitfam#strong
