Some speed and power work this morning with @tysondavis
.
Lots of fast footwork on the agility ladder, body weight and with resistance.
.
Used some weighted Sled Push / Pull to work on bio mechanics of the sprint.
.
Kept some competitive feel to the session by getting a PB on SLJ - tested out single leg and double.

Benefits of Cold Water Showers 🚿💦
.
While doctors may no longer instruct their patients to take a cold bath and call them in the morning, a shot of cold water can still impart real health benefits:
.
1️⃣ Improves circulation. Good blood circulation is vital for overall cardiovascular health. Healthy blood circulation also speeds up recovery time from strenuous exercises and work. Alternating between hot and cold water while you shower is an easy way to improve your circulation. Cold water causes your blood to move to your organs to keep them warm. Warm water reverses the effect by causing the blood to move towards the surface of the skin. Cold shower proponents argue that stimulating the circulatory system in this way keeps them healthier and younger looking than their hot water-loving counterparts.
.
2️⃣ Strengthens immunity. According to a study done in 1993 by the Thrombosis Research Institute in England, individuals who took daily cold showers saw an increase in the number of virus fighting white blood cells compared to individuals who took hot showers. Researchers believe that the increased metabolic rate, which results from the body’s attempt to warm itself up, activates the immune system and releases more white blood cells in response.
.
3️⃣ Increases fertility. Trying to become a dad? Cold showers are good for your little swimmers. Your testes aren’t meant to get too hot; that’s why they hang outside your body. Sperm counts decrease when the temperature of a man’s testes increases. Experiments done in the 1950s showed that hot baths were an effective contraceptive. Men who took a 30 minute hot bath every other day for 3 weeks were infertile for the next six months. More recently, the University of California at San Francisco did a study with men who were exposed to 30 minutes of “wet heat” (hot baths and such) a week. When the men cut this exposure out, their sperm count went up by 491%, and their sperm’s motility improved as well.

Eliminate Weak Hamstrings ➡️
.
From many years playing football I have been that person that had chronic tight hamstring muscles. Not only tight but weak. This led to recurrence of hamstring injuries and in and out of playing football.
.
This frustrating journey also led me to learn more about how to prevent these injuries occurring and what I could do personally to help prevent the occurrence of future injuries.
.
These are some of the best exercises you should be doing if you suffer with weak hamstrings or simply want to improve athletic performance.
.
1️⃣Glut Ham Raise
2️⃣RDL
3️⃣Good Mornings
4️⃣Harrop Curls
5️⃣Banded Hamstring Curls
6️⃣Wide Stance Squats on variety of box heights
7️⃣Sled Pulls with strap between legs
8️⃣Reverse Hypers
9️⃣Nordics
.
Combine these strength movements with daily mobility training such as Jefferson Curls for a shift in hamstring strength and mobility.
.
Eliminate weak hamstrings and prevent injuries.

A Holistic approach to health requires having a big focus placed on Mobility. .
Mobility is our freedom to move as our bodies were given to us - in our childlike state.
.
Being able to touch your toes, sit in a deep squat, or get into positions like a bridge.
.
As we age our range of motion at our joints decreases so it's vital we take time daily to work on this. .
Improved Mobility = Improved Quality of life 😃
.
Our coaching services are aimed at both aging populations to improve wellness and longevity as well as assisting in athletic performance for sporting interests.
.
Other benefits of having improved mobility include .
1️⃣Improves Chronic Joint Pains
2️⃣Aids digestion
3️⃣Improves ability to perform daily tasks
4️⃣Decreases risk of injury .
We would love to help you reach towards a better version of wellness & performance
