This is a list of names of the slaves still in this slave pen when their owner died. They weren't given last names until well after he died. And at that they were given his last name. So in order to find the genealogy of your descendants if they were slaves you also need to know the name of their slave owners. Imagine that inseparable fact as part of your history. The other images are where they were found. And then at that time Kentucky owned the River, so if you were able to cross this River and step over, you were in a free state. Imagine such a clear line to long for and find your freedom. Like I said, two hours here wasn't nearly enough time...#truthbeckons #thisisjoy #keepthewonder #ilovesummer #longlivesummer #historyisntalwayspretty
