Last night, I returned back to the city after being out in nature and a small remote community for two weeks. What unfolded as we were about to sit down for a celebratory beer was bone chilling and shows just how influential our political leaders are, those "public idols". They influence human actions more than we realize.
We were out on the patio and an intoxicated First Nation man walked by two men who were also sitting on the patio. Apparently he told them to "Go Home". I'm guessing they were Iraqi but were likely Canadian citizens!! They said something back to him and the man on the street proceeded to spit in the other mans face. Serious disrespect. A lot of yelling followed with drunk throwing, you get the picture. Was this really necessary?
All this division and focus on division.... what good is this bringing to our world? That we focus on MANIFESTS in our physical world and right now the media with Trump is focusing so much on this negative divide. I agree that we need to be aware of it. But to encourage fear mongering and illuminate hate is just... unnecessary.
I am hopeful that with tomorrow's solar eclipse and new moon that we can all take a look at ourselves, reflect and see where we hold hate and division within ourselves, acknowledge it, and let it go.
We are all made of atoms, and cells. We evolved from single cells organisms billions of years ago. We are all the same. As humans we have a choice to embrace that we are all one. A world of harmony and peace. Wouldn't that be just amazing! It all starts with us, individuals. One person can really make a difference. If you are still reading this, thank you.
