So--I have been getting these headaches for a while. I'm not a huge fan of pills because I feel like it just masks the problem and I like to solve problems. I tried drinking water, sleeping, eating a healthy snack and nothing worked. Frustrated, I did not understand why these headaches continued to show up and my ability to recall things, events or places was not so great, too. '

One thing I did remember was how stressful my work week had been, including getting yelled at by an egotistical writer and my boss back-to-back. On Saturday, my headache began to hurt more and all I wanted to do was sleep. I woke up Sunday morning and my eyes were puffy--how would I figure this out?!? It hurts and I refuse to take pills!! Frustrated, I got in my car, turned on some Bob Dylan and drove to Trestles...suddenly, my head felt a little better, but it still hurt. I found a killer parking spot and walked the trail, smelled the air full of sage and sunshine...the waves were in my view.

I surfed for almost 5 hours...it was impossible to leave. I caught waves on my new board, I saw friends and caught up, sun was shining and the weather (& waves 😁) really was, well, SWEET. πŸ’ƒπŸΌ

As I was gathering my stuff to walk back up the trail, I realized my headache that tormented me for days was suddenly GONE. *

As defined by Merriam-Webster--
Stress (noun): a physical, chemical, or emotional factor that causes bodily or mental tension and may be a factor in disease causation.

It's so important to be aware of this invisible force & to surround yourself with people who build you up. I realized today that surfing, music and fellowship with friends really is a natural medicine for me. I've always understood that yelling and egos are so incredibly unnecessary, but today, I've decided to make more of a conscious effort to not deal with that bad behavior anymore. No one needs to--whether it's your job, friends/family, angry surfers, coworkers, bosses, passive aggressive people, and more. It's just not worth it.
β˜€οΈAs I told a friend today-"life is too short to be stressed, feel small & deal with bad behavior...but be right back-gonna catch this wave." 🌊🌊🌊🌊
