Disappointment has always been difficult for me. My personality just automatically approaches things openly, positively, and I truly try to give the very best I have when I approach life. The strength comes with the MASS. Haven't squatted over 400 in over a month. Hit some good doubles tonight before getting my high reps in. Worked up to 425x2 and 455x2. No spot necessary. Just have to be patient and I'll regain all of my strength and some!  New program starts in November. Just having some fun until then. I'm well short of my squat goal of 600, but time, proper training, and lots of food will get me there in time. -

A few words on the grunting... I usually grunt/yell when I'm in the weight room (by usually, I mean always). I know it's considered bad etiquette, but I find it gives me more power and really helps me focus on the lift in front of me. Research is mixed on the effects of grunting/yelling while lifting, but there's enough evidence to suggest that there's a slight power increase when someone does it. I've copied a few links below to some articles about the effects of grunting/yelling while performing physical activities. I'm sorry if the extra noise in the gym makes others uncomfortable, but if it makes me feel stronger in even the slightest, I'm going to continue to do it. Give it a try before you judge it and see for yourself. Just stay clear of planet fitness 🌎. -
