4 years ago today, I received my first figma, a ~$66 order on Shibuya Rin from YesAsia. Although I placed a pre-order on Hatsune Miku 2.0 prior to this, Rin was the first one I actually owned. I latched onto this when I just recently got into iM@S and also learned about figma at the same time, and really wanted an iM@S anything figma. I was blown away getting to actually examine it with my own hands. It revolutionized my expectation on what an action figure should be with its smooth joints and interchangeable parts. From that point on, my figma collection ended up being a bigger hobby money pit that my Transformers AND Star Wars 3.75" figure collections COMBINED. Totally expensive, but totally worth it. I probably have at least 5 dozen figma now, and it's not stopping. Now it also crosses over into my other hobbies with art and photography.
By extension from that point of first figma ownership, iM@S Cinderella Girls also consumed my life when I researched into it, and Rin ended up being my number one aidoru. Oh, how it all escalated so quickly.
