If you have had any kind shoulder surgery/injury, you know what that  homemade towel roller thingy is in my right armpit! 🤓🧐 💪🏽

When it comes to rotator cuff exercises, it is crucial that you keep your elbow tucked in to your side as tight as possible (swipe ◀️ to see video).

This is the very purpose of the towel!

The towel is there as a mental cue to keep my elbow tucked. 
_
If I do not tuck my elbow correctly, the towel will fall to the ground and the exercise becomes a deltoid exercise (side lateral raise) rather than a rotator cuff exercise.

So, the next time you decide to work your shoulder mobility/health (which everyone should do to prevent injury), make life easier..

A leader knows the way. Goes the way. Shows the way. 
There are many attributes that can make up a leader. You don't have to be an expert in every field to lead. You SHOULD be expected to take an interest in learning if you aren't competent. Lead from the front. Get your hands dirty. Don't expect to make your subordinates do anything you aren't willing to do yourself. Earn their respect and confidence. Most importantly, understand that to accomplish a mission, it's not about you. It's about using teamwork to motivate those around you to better.

Sometimes you find yourself more supported and uplifted by complete strangers than you do from people in your own backyard. Not sure why this is but I’ve learned over the years that connections can be made anywhere at anytime and history or amount of time means nothing when it comes to sincerity and genuineness.🤷🏻‍♀️🙌🏼 💯 If I know one thing to be true, working out has ALWAYS been my outlet and my happy place. And for months I haven’t been able to feel inspired/motivated/encouraged/supported/or even the desire to push myself like I once did. Getting out of bed used to be thoughtless. I would jump up at 445am and be pumped to see progress and even hit the gym again after work because I was high on the results. Now, it’s excuse, worry, doubt and lack of desire. This challenge is not to win 50k for me personally, it’s to win myself back. And that’s truly what I hope to get out of it. @jenna_fail is such a bright light in the fitness industry for me. Real. Genuine. And probs one of my favs of all the the years I’ve followed page after page and company after company. We all have something that motivates and inspires, sometimes it just happens to be complete strangers on the internet  fighting for the same goal. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Cheesy as that might seem to some, I’ve stopped caring what others think about the path I need to take to live my best life.

went into this lift initially with a mindset that i might not even get 225. as i pulled up to the gym i realized that my mind tells my body what it's going to do and if i am speaking negatively then i will only get negative results. my intention was to pull a 235 deadlift AND THATS EXACTLY WHAT I DID. gettin stronger every week i'm excited to see where i can go from here 😈

My leg workout was AWESOME! I did squats, and got 135 lbs for 5 reps and I did it quite comfortably (of course having a spot) & haven’t been in the gym in quite a bit of time! Need a new leg workout to try?

I get asked this in the gym, through my DM's, emails, shit i've been stopped at the grocery store with this one haha. I get it often enough that I think it's a good one to post on.

Here is the thing.

__

There is no special way to diet. Sure, some will provide a bit of a different end result depending on how meticulous you are and how you go about the process, but weight loss as a whole is simple. It has been since the dawn of man.

__

In order to lose weight continually you must be in a calorie deficit.

__

This is where people can tend to either get worried, concerned or just scared because they think that there is a special secret to dieting or that anyone who has lost weight has had some form of a eureka moment.

__

Like anything else there are more advanced ways of doing so, so the same can be said for losing weight certainly for aesthetics purposes,  but weight loss as a whole takes being in a caloric deficit. So all approaches work.

__

The other area of weight loss to address is both the sustainability of the diet itself and the mindset/emotions of the person losing weight. They are all linked to the process, so when it comes to these different ways of dieting it just means choosing which approach works best for each person including all of the above.

I have some clients doing Ketogenic dieting, others I have on meal plans, others counting their macros, others counting calories. These are all decisions based on not just what works best, but what works best for each individual person.

Anyone who tells you they have the only way to lose weight or the best way to lose weight is missing the boat big time , because this is all about you.

I assure you, There wont be any new diet that comes out that is superior than any other…as it will still just be a different way of putting the body in a deficit.

Change the angle by keeping the tension in front of your body.

Notice how my hands never touch. In order to get maximum tension on the pectoral, try driving your elbows downward and together.

I say this not to say burn yourself out  and run yourself into the ground. Sometimes doing more means learning how to rearrange your schedule in order to fit more in, it's assessing your work and recognizing the areas the are inefficient and then taking action to streamline your work. Perhaps it's putting down the phone and paying more attention to your spouse or friend while they talk to you, it's taking an extra few hours out of your week to make those phone calls you've been meaning to, or when your boss asks you to take on some extra work or take on a big project on top of your current load, do it! And do it with enthusiasm. You'll find a way. Be the person that does more, that goes above and beyond. Be that person that cares!

it's ❄️ in alabama 🙀 which = no school so i'm not mad about it. 
it's actually quite beautiful; i forget how pretty snow is every time until i see it again and then i'm like "wow. i wish i was as pretty as snow." anywhoser, i didn't go to bed until about 2 a.m. but still got up at 7:30 to complete my #miraclemorning (if you don't know what that is look it up lol) and to get an early start to my day ☀️ got lotsa reading and work done already 🙆 so i'm feelin guuud. 
let this be your reminder that EVEN THOUGH YOU MIGHT BE OFF SCHOOL/WORK, DON'T STOP WORKIN. 
yeah, it's my "day off" but i'm gonna be on my shit so i don't return to school confused at why i'm so behind. #lifedoesntstop
