So my wife and I have been competing for two years now and can’t believe in such an uplifting bodybuilding community, how many ignorant people are still involved. Let me save you ignorant people some time. You’re never going to win your pro card, you’re not better than anyone. Putting other people down might help drown your insecurities, but it’s never going to make you a dime in this sport. Not sure if you noticed, but your personality is the ticket, not the trophy you have to pay to win. If you’re not doing this for the right reasons, to lift others up and improve yourself as a person regardless of placings, then do everyone a favor and quit now. Even if you do win your pro card, it’s not going to fix all your underlying psychological problems! GET OVER YOURSELF.
I have struggled with anxiety and depression my entire life and heard about floating as a way to alleviate the stress and tension that mindfulness and massage don't seem to help. After a particularly bad therapy session I saw a Facebook post about Levity and I impulse-booked a 60-minute session. Going in, I was really nervous that I would be freaked out by the sensory deprivation, but the attendant was so welcoming and helped acclimate me to the space and to the concept really wonderfully. His suggestions were great! The float itself, at first, was hard to get used to - I felt bored after several minutes, but then realized it was because I literally had nothing to do but just be for the first time. So I embraced that and allowed myself to relax, and it was amazing. I'm still riding the relaxation almost five hours later. I can't wait to go back again!
