ran to my auto shop this morning to pick up Cedric. 3.35 miles in 26:23 (7:52 min/mile). got some dumb news about the car and we will need to get some work done next week. but no worries! we got this. Legs were super tight on the run since yesterday’s 10+ mile double run. I’m about to teach for a few hours back to back, which I haven’t done since teaching high school. And THEN I get to fix my bike. when all I wanted to do today after work was learn some Tegan and Sara covers.

Words can not express how happy I am - I’ve just ran my first ever full 5k. Although I was only on week8 day1 on the C25K app I woke up this morning and knew I was ready for the full 5k and my time I can’t believe. 5 weeks yesterday I started the C25K app, I struggled with the 90 seconds walking 90 seconds jogging after week 1 I thought there’s no way il be able to run 5 k in 9 weeks time let alone 5 weeks later and at an actual running pace. I’m on such a high right now. I have struggled with what they call runners knee for the last week and on Monday I had to stop running after only 5 mins because the pain in my right knee was so excruciatingly bad, I rang my mum in tears saying what am I going to do the pain was so bad I felt I’d never be able to run a full 5k, I was so upset because I was just starting to believe in myself, Fitness wise I knew I was getting stronger and fitter and was ready to be a ‘runner’, I went out the next day to try again and yes the pain in my knee was bad but  I’m stubborn and determined and ran through it, if anyone has any tips please tell me because I really don’t want this pain getting in the way of me running. I’m about 75% of the way through my #couchto5k and have been stuck on this one level, running 10 minutes twice, for about a week and a half. I was pretty frustrated last week when I attempted this level and for the first time just couldn’t do it. Which maybe isn’t surprising since two months ago I could barely run for a minute. 😬 But I didn’t give up and have tried to run a little longer each time on the second run. And.....drumroll.....tonight I did it!! Totally rocked it. And I’m fully prepared to get stuck on the next level and the next one but I don’t care how long it takes me!! Hey friends! Today, after babying my hamstring the last 3 days, and  lots of positive thoughts, I was able to get in a good tempo effort. I was hoping for a pain free run, but wasn’t QUITE there, yet. I’m  doing everything within my power to keep a balance between recovering just enough during my easy days, to be able to run my quality workouts which are twice a week. Monday and Tuesday were rest days, Wednesday 60 min moderate bike sesh, today tempo run. Because the pain stayed between a 1-3 during today’s run, I continued to go for it. 👟👟Workout: 2.5 mile warm up then: 14 x 2 minutes @ 6:33 pace with 1 minute of steady pace in between (around 7:30 pace.) Actual paces: 6:21, 7:33, 6:30, 7:43, 6:40, 7:15, 6:27, 7:41, 6:27, 7:08, 6:43, 7:29, 6:24, 7:21, 6:18, 7:21, 6:33, 7:26, 6:30, 7:26, 6:24, 7:18, 6:40, 7:13, 6:27, 7:15, 6:18, 7:01 Average pace: 6:45, then 1 mile cool down. Ham was hurting so I couldn’t finish the last mile of the cool down👎🏻 @tsampereira ran home to grab her car while I did some concurrent body strength training on the sidewalk. I might or might not have had a few really weird looks by people driving by😜 Honestly...I didn’t care. Cuz after body strength my ham usually loosens up. Threw in an ice bath and I felt even better, good enough to go to the gym and do my Drew Watts ST sesh #1. 🏋🏻‍♀️ Still trying to figure out this hamstring puzzle...

Even though I hit my paces today, Running felt awkward and clumsy. I’ve concluded that I feel more zippy during a hard run when the PREVIOUS day I run some easy miles and faster strides. Just an observation.

quick and easy 5k after therapy. 3.1 miles in 24:42 (7:57 min/mile). Haven’t ran a simple 5k in a while so it was nice to get one in—even if it was right after running 7.5 miles or so. So I feel very confident that I’d be able to crush a 5k on its own now.

Sadly, I’m gonna have to get up and run to the auto shop bright and early tomorrow because I dropped the car off today to get a tune up before we drive to Western Mass this weekend. So there i’ll be more running shortly! But I’m mostly taking the weekend off so I’m getting it all out now, I guess.

I have nothing nice to say about this run.  I greatly dislike outside running, especially on week nights.  Traffic in and out of The neighborhood. People standing outside.  I was almost roadkill twice and I know those asshats saw my thickness running!! Let’s not even look at the time! 😡😤😩. Definitely need to rethink this outside running during the week. Just picked up my race packet and ready to enjoy this beautiful weather! I haven't posted in a little while because I injured my leg a few days ago. To make a long story short, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be and I will still be able to race this weekend. This morning I used a new running app (@zombiesrun_app) because I had been kinda frustrated in my runs. (Shoutout @keto.kid for the rec!) This was my view as I started my first mission. I set out for an easy jog after missing a few sessions and with some nerve injury pain today. Ended up improving my times. 😂 I am terrified of zombies. Ya’ll better watch out. I’m coming for you! 👣👟💪🏻
