I want someone who is all in,
Looking back at me with
Unwavering joie de vivre
While we sip on silence at three
I want someone who,
When I’m gone,
Falls in love
In love with the prisms
That make up their world,
Decidedly ha-ha-ing at the bogart—
Prisons built by expectations!
Oh, how they tickle and taunt and tease
Trying to pull the free away from the free
Imaginary walls crumble
In way of a fearless fall.

The 60’s is my absolute favorite decade for makeup! Models came into the more prominent “celebrity” scene and its those models that I have looked up to for so long.
Twiggy, iconic cut crease. Strong mascara. She created a look all on her own! Peggy Moffitt, famous for the 60’s mod makeup! Beautiful back then and still looks the same. Jean Shrimpton, natural beauty with the nude lips. Also super iconic!
Then there was The Summer of Love that brought in the hippie movement.
I’m telling you. The 60’s is where it was at.
Yesterday I did a very Twiggy inspired look on Stephanie, an intern at the school with 4 drawn on bottom lashes on each side, a lot of precision line work and some super intense lashes on the top lid! I paired the dramatic eyes with a natural looking brow and blush and a nude lip!
For almost a year I’ve been working on a personal project about the history of makeup, inspired by @lisaeldridgemakeup. As a makeup artist I think it’s important to learn as much as you can, past and present.
This is a 60s look I did about 9 months ago. I tried to stay close to the original colours and formulas. I even made my own eyeshadow!
I’ll be posting more of these soon💄

I have been very inspired by technicolor movies lately, so I will be posting makeup looks over the next week using my City Color Sprinkle palette. The lipstick I will wear each day will be the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Rich Girl Red. It reminds me of the lipstick Grace Kelly wears in Rear Window. Stay tuned.
