As a kid, when I would “cook dinner”, for my imaginary family, these berries (which I didn’t really eat) would always be featured on the menu. Childhood was so dope in the 90s, before technology took over *le sigh*
#halloween Movie Recommendation Tuesday time here's a lesser known or overlooked/forgotten movie for you to check out. (Or just a good one for the spooky Season)
The Burbs is a 1989 horror comedy about a stressed out suburban family man and his fellow neighbors who become convinced that the new family on the block are some sort of murderous Satanic cult.
This one is just a classic Tom Hanks #80s comedy that ive always liked since i was a kid.
The jokes keep flowing while he slowly spirals out of control trying to prove his neighbors are murders.
The directing in this is good for what this film needs, especially because its done by Joe Dante, who usually does a great job merging the horror a comedy genres.
The writing is hilarious with a fun premise to go with, obviously it could be better and wasnt award winning, but it serves its purpose for what this movie requires. Its just a silly comedy with a horror back drop. I like how it kinda pokes fun at how suburbanites have nothing better to do than spy and gossip about their neighbors.
The acting is prime time 80s comedy Tom Hanks coming off a recent string of hits.
The cast rounds out with Bruce Dern, Carrie Fisher, Rick Ducommum, Corey Feldman and Rance Howard.
This movie is a comedy gem that more people should watch, if you haven't seen this i recommend checking it out.
You wanna watch a fun little Halloween movie in #October ? This is the perfect one for you.
