This pink magnolia tree has brought me so much joy and beauty. As I cleaned up the dropped petals in my studio, I decided to make some beads out of the branch. I like how the beads turned out. And the smell of the magnolia wood was amazing as I carved it.
Hey local folks, swing by and carve with us on Friday April 14th from 4-9:00pm. Bring a piece you've been working on or need help with, or start a new project. Or just drop in and say hi and check out our space. There will probably be a fire going out back to sit by too. We look forward to seeing you. Bring a friend too.
Been an awesome few weeks rapping and speaking in all sorts of different environments and contexts. I am so blessed to be so supported in what I do. I am so thankful to have an amazing wife who walks along side me with each new experience that comes our way. God is so good and I am so thankful! Appreciate all the prayers over the past few weeks and months. 2017 is going to be one incredible year I feel! So great to come home and cuddle our little Kai guy after all the craziness #greatlife#kaiguy#pastor#rapper#speaker#aaw2017#burn247#tm41 @suerussell306 @midwestburn247 @telemiracle @briercrest
#100thankfuldays#day59 Today I'm thankful getting the chance to be attend the last Briercrest's Aboriginal Awareness week! I'm so thankful for getting the chance to hear stories and songs, and watch dances, all helping celebrate aboriginal culture with my brothers and sisters in Christ!! Thankful for the conversations of Hope and reconciliation, may God continue to the process of healing our land. #aaw2017#yourockchallenge#briercrest
What a powerful morning here at Briercrest as we had the huge honor of having Chief Robert Joseph address our community today about reconciliation. He shared his powerful story of surviving residential schools and various trials in his life. This picture is a snapshot of the reconciliation he shared with us and that we all should strive for. In this picture you have Ray Aldred and Terry Lablanc sharing an honor song to Chief Joseph. Kallie Wood the Briercrest aboriginal coordinator and our president Michael Pawelke are by Chief Joseph. This is just snapshot and taste of what is to come for our nation I believe. #aaw2017#yourockchallenge#recincilliation#peacemakers#hopeinchrist#briercrest
Our students are back from mod break and so are Snapchat takeovers! 👍🏽 Brittney Murray is taking over our Snapchat tomorrow and she'll show you some of the cool events she's involved with for Aboriginal Awareness Week. 😆 Be sure to check it out! #Briercrest#AAW2017
It is Aboriginal awareness week once again here at Briercrest! I have had the honor to be part of it since it started here. Every year I learn more about my own culture and identity. I am so thankful that our school takes the time to embrace native culture and history and the way forward in the challenges our province and nation faces. Please keep us all in prayer as we journey together as one people! #aaw2017#briercrest#yourockchallenge#namwayut
