BARCELONA BANNED THE HORROR OF HORSE-DRAWN CARRIAGES!
The horse-drawn carriage industry will soon be a thing of the past in the city of Barcelona, Spain—the city council voted to ban the trade from June 2018. Deputy Mayor Janet Sanz tweeted, “Barcelona is a friend to animals.” She also stated that the use of horse-drawn carriages will be permitted only during traditional celebrations such as Los Tres Toms and the Feast of Sant Medir. At all other times, it’ll be completely illegal.
Over the years, hundreds of incidents in the United States alone have been caused by forcing horses to drag heavy carriages, proving that this practice is a living nightmare for the animals. The dangers that they face include being exposed to heavy traffic on loud, busy city streets where they may be struck by vehicles or take fright and cause an accident. Their respiratory systems are also at risk from the toxic exhaust fumes that they inhale for hours each day, seven days a week, with little rest and medical care. As if that wasn’t enough, walking miles at a time weakens their tired bodies, resulting in leg injuries. (link on AEC home page - via @officialpetalatino)
This is what we had for dinner tonight (rice paper rolls with ginger peanut dipping sauce) but it didn’t look quite as yummy 😅 because with a baby in the house, sometimes dinner is a slap dash job. Especially when said baby insists on being attached at the hip 👶 #vegan#mumlife#veganmum#instafood
Beautiful Bertha was out early this morning to enjoy her fields 🐴❄️Heavy snow is due in this afternoon so the animals will be bedding down early today 💙#fieldsoffreedom

🥥There are multiple cures for cancer, you just have to do some research and stop relying on the corporations that make money off you being sick.
In this newly published lab study, lauric acid (coconut oil is about 50% lauric acid) killed over 93% of human colon cancer cells (Caco-2) after 48 hours of treatment.
Intriguingly, the lauric acid poisoned the cancer cells by simultaneously unleashing profound oxidative stress while strongly reducing their levels of glutathione (which is exactly what the cancer cells needed to protect themselves from the increased oxidative stress). While we are just now discovering coconut oil’s full anti-cancer potential, its many health benefits have already been well established through medical research.
It naturally kills multiple viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites. It aids digestion and liver metabolism, reduces inflammation, and promotes healthier skin and faster wound healing when applied topically. It may also be an effective aid for diabetes, as it has been shown to raise levels of the beneficial cholesterol HDL in women, improve their LDL:HDL ratio, and resulted in superior weight loss and abdominal fat lass compared to soybean oil.
#Coconut oil is now being used in clinical trials for improving cholesterol in patients with chronic heart disease, in fighting Alzheimre’s, and for improving blood pressure and blood sugar levels.
#Coconutoil is unique in that it is about 50% lauric acid, a medium chained triglyceride that is otherwise very hard to find in our diets (palm kernel oil is also about 50% lauric acid). Interestingly, lauric acid makes up about 2% of the fat in cow’s milk but 6% of the fat in human milk, implying that humans may have a naturally higher need for this fatty acid.
@thevegangym Hi, I’m Leif.
Welcome to The Vegan Gym!
I’m on a MISSION to show the world that vegans are strong, healthy, compassionate BADASSES who are leading the charge against chronic disease, animal abuse, and climate change.
When I began my senior year of college, I thought I was going to die.
Just a few days before beginning my fall semester in late August 2013, I had surgery to remove a walnut-sized tumor from my lower abdomen.
When the surgeon received the biopsy results, he urgently called me into his office to tell me the tumor tested positive for Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH), an incredibly rare form of cancer.
I spent my first weeks of my senior year in and out of cold, sterile oncology centers, being poked, prodded, and scanned to determine if the disease had spread.
For the first month of school, I couldn’t go to class or spend time with family and friends. I withdrew myself from everything and everyone. I felt utterly alone.
When my oncologist called me into his office a few weeks later to tell me that my disease had not spread, I was overcome with gratitude and relief. Life slowly returned to normal, but the experience remained.
I swore I would do whatever it took to never face this hell again. ...

When it comes to others trying to defend animal abuse and justify killing them, one of the most common pseudo-excuses vegans come across is an extremely ludicrous crap that goes along the lines of "but they are going to die anyway, so we may as well just kill them and eat them." The astonishing stupidity and blatant lack of basic morals still manages to baffle me sometimes. Just sometimes.
Based on the above, as we are all going to die anyway, abusing and killing each other as we please should be a perfectly acceptable and ok thing to do. But it is not. And I won't even get into details about why not, because we already know how to tell right from wrong.
Initially I thought that my post should read "Death is certain. Murder is not." However, for most Earthlings, murder is actually very certain, as most animals are bred just to be murdered.
More than 150 billion animals are killed by humans every single year.
Every single second of every minute of every hour of every damn day about 4,000 animals are brutally murdered. Every single second. Systematically. These animals are treated as nothing, like they don't matter at all. Their unique identities are mocked and disrespected beyond belief, their bodies turned into macabre commodities that we don't need. Gratuitous violence, this is what it is.
The question is, how can an aware* non-vegan possibly justify animal abuse and murder?
Go on, ask them. But don't wait for any valid answer; all you'll get are pseudo-excuses.
Because there is NO valid answer to justify such atrocities. Nothing will ever justify exploiting, harming and killing others gratuitously. Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Speak up very clearly. Don't get lost in the myriad of pseudo-excuses like the circle of life/ancestors/lions/canines, etc. It always comes down to this: we don't need to eat/wear/use animals.
It is NOT our right to take animals' lives as we please. It is a crime. It is MURDER.
* An aware non-vegan is one who knows that we don't need to eat/wear/use animals in any way and is aware of the gratuitous brutalities involved, yet still chooses to be the cause and part of it.
