Sometimes, no matter how many hours (I'm probably around 25 hours on this piece so far) you put into practicing, sometimes you have to remember that people spend YEARS and YEARS perfecting one single piece of music, written by one person, before there was any of the tools we take for granted today. No Sibelius, no guitar pro, no midi, no video or audio recording. Pen, paper, and creativity is all some people need to create a piece of music that will provide near infinite depth, inspiration, and frustration while learning. I can't seem to get this piece to where I want it, but that won't stop me from trying. "I was obliged to be industrious. Whoever is equally industrious will succeed equally well." #bach
For my 117th day of #100daysofpractice I had the pleasure of giving @meredithspradlin an extended violin lesson! Her mom contacted me a while ago and said she wanted to drive down from Illinois and surprise her daughter with a violin lesson with me for her 16th birthday present! 😱 I am beyond honored..!! Meredith's birthday is on December 25th! Isn't that cool?? So Merry Christmas and Happy Sweet 16, @meredithspradlin!🎄🎁🎉🎂We worked on Haydn G Major for the majority of her lesson, but thought it would be fun to play through Bach Double for a little reward after some very hard work on her part! (I also said I need to practice for my 117th video 😂) I know I had a lot of fun! Thanks for playing with me, Meredith!❤️
🎻Bach Concerto for 2 Violins BWV 1043: Vivace
I think I got it, @jrhodespianist ☺️🎹 I’m a self-taught musician (fucking eternal lack of money...) and I was already familiar with the piano, so it took me less than two weeks 🙈 Still a lot to improve, though. Most of all I’ve learnt to love this piece and want to play more Bach. Thanks for your help and inspiration! Now I want more 🙄 @blackiebooks .
