Alright you guys.... I legit had a foodgasm after taking my first bite out of this! Hands down, new favorite burger of all time! So delicious, and juicy, and zero carbs! The bun has been replaced with turkey bacon (Thank you flexibledietinglifestyle for the idea). You guys need to try making this, I promise you won't regret it. Did I mention I put a little beer cheese on it?? Yes indeed, beer cheese😋🍺🍻.
I fancied an easy day of food. Haven't been feeling the warm lunches so have put the rest of my curries in the freezer and have replaced the lunches with something easy to eat cool, here's today:
Morning snack: @heckfooduk scotch egg and veggie sticks
Lunch: bacon sandwich thin, mini cheddars, baby tomatoes
Afternoon (pre-cycling home in 25deg) proats!
Next week I'm only working three days so I'll put together a super cheap, easy and balanced meal prep and share costings too.. as a lot of people ask me if my food is expensive (short answer: yes, more so than buying just junk.. long answer: depends what you enjoy spending your money on and if you need energy for the tasks you do !)
Today's exercise is just a 10k each way to and from work on my bike, I've got laundry to do and a birthday 🎂 to make and my bags to pack for Brighton! Yip too yipeee!
Flashback to this delicious breakfast I ate while away with @i.am.brett a few weeks back 🥓🍳 obviously I took every item of food and logged it into MyFitnessPal 🙄 despite being essentially recovered from my eating disorder for several years, I've found that calorie counting has been a really hard habit to shake.
2 weeks ago, I uninstalled the app and decided to eat intuitively (normal healthy eating has its own name, it turns out). It's difficult to forget the numbers I associate with each food, but I'm getting there. Here is what I've discovered so far.
1/ Nothing terrible happens. I haven't suddenly expanded to the size of a small country or eaten everything in sight.
2/ I can still eat healthy food and enjoy it. I can also still eat junk and enjoy it but not have to see it on the app and feel shit about it later.
3/ I'm actually listening to my hunger cues. I'm not forcing myself to eat when I'm not hungry because I 'should have eaten more by now' and I'm not eating too little because I haven't 'earned it'. So basically not calorie counting is great. I wish I hadn't wasted so much time and energy on it over the years, but shit happens!
Bacon Friday - On the left we have Unsmoked Streaky which will be covered in Demerara sugar for Sugar Pit Streaky and on the right is Smoked Streaky soon to be coated in Canadian Maple Syrup for a sweet but smokey flavour! See you in a week!!! #butcher#bacon
FRI-YAY! This four day week seemed to take forever 😂 but we're nearly there now! I'm looking forward to a relaxed day with all the carbs tomorrow, but for now it's sub 70g carbs for the day again..
Breakfast: 🥓🍳🍅 two egg cheese omlette with 3 rashers of unsmoked bacon, asparagus and tomatoes -
Mid morning: 🥒🌶🧀🍉 cucumber, radish and pepper with feta and Parma ham wrapped melon -
Lunching on: four @heckfooduk chicken italia with beetroot (hello purple poop!), broccoli, peas 💚, runner beans. -
Afternoon snack: fatty brownie with fage 0% and a few raspberries -
Supper will be BBQ chicken and egg fried rice followed by a grenade obviously! Haha! Still 2,000 kcal day so plenty of variety in my food and no miserable huge calorie deficiency weekend binge inducing mind games 🤦🏼♀️
Planning to run some errands before work then walk in (it's a decent 1k uphill walk.. good for the bottom) then run to the gym tonight to do my burpees for today and then amuse myself until J picks me up. We're planning a leg session over the weekend so I might just do some BW leg work or stretching. It's OK not to go hard at it all the time. 👌🏼
Have a beautiful day lovely people -
I had everything for dinner then a second carb killa.. ooops. Hehe. 100kcal over for the day BUT it was lush AND I ran 7K with Christina (felt lush but way too hot, her ankle held out 👊🏽) then did a little shoulders with J and my 100 burpees in the kitchen at home. -
My delicious snacks supper was purple eggs 😂, cheese, bacon, chicken sausages, radish, cucumber, celery, carrot and tomatoes. I just love picking at all the flavours. Have made myself lush meals for tomorrow too.. can't wait. -
Still counting today as low carb as my net carbs for the day are 50g! That should be 4 days sub 60g net carbs this week.. maybe I'll be able to avoid the chocolate biscuits this weekend.. maybe not 🤦🏼♀️
Who's ready for a 4 day week AND seeing Baywatch at the weekend? 🙋🏼 I love the rock -
Starting today of with some #bacongains .. three rashers of bacon 🥓🥓with a @grenadeofficial diet shake. I'm always put off by the word 'diet' but the macros look good and it was a freebie with my Jaffa quakes (half the box is gone already!)🤦🏼♀️
Mid morning I have 🍉melon, 🧀mozzarella, Parma ham, celery and cucumber🥒. Nice mix of juicy, creamy and salty.
Lunch is a salad 🥗🙊 of lambs lettuce, steamed broccoli, beetroot, radish, feta, walnuts and @heckfooduk chicken Italia (on offer in @Tesco)
My afternoon snack is a toffee flavoured bowl of fage with a super high fat brownie. 🍰
Dinner will be low carb pizza 🍕 and a carb killa!🍫
Days goal: 2,000kcal 50% fat 15% carb 35% protein. -
I got dropped a kilometre or so away from Work so had a little pre-breakfast stroll, and will do another 20-30 min walk on lunch. I'll run 4K to the gym later (or more if the weather stays crisp!) before my 100 burpees, some BW leg moves and training back with J. Jam packed! 💪🏼
Low bar journey begins.
Did my 3 rep max today to obtain numbers for my low bar cycle. Gonna spend this cycle really nitpicking my form and movement. So far, I'm surprised and really satisfied that it was able to almost match my high bar numbers considering I've not done low bar before.
Really happy with the @strength_apparel
Bar grip shirt which is suitable for squatting and benching. Bar was stuck in place and I didn't have to worry about it slipping down my spine. Glad the shirt got my back literally!
1st Attempt: 145kg
2nd Attempt: 155 kg
3rd Attempt: 165 kg
4th Attempt: 172.5kg (all no depth)
Actual reaction to me getting the opportunity of a lifetime and not knowing what to do with myself... @lifeaidbevco HQ, here I come!! ••• In all honestly, currently at the Salt Lake City airport eating the THICKEST pieces of bacon I've ever had 🥓 🐷 Thicker the bacon, bigger the gains?? #bacongains#lifeaid#fitaid#crossfitlifestyle#bacondiet#calibound
