I woke up with a tasty eggs benny breakfast followed by tonic espresso with the lovely @kaliangele who is a local and so generous to let me stay with her while in LA. She is a beautiful soul and it has been amazing to reconnect after eight years apart.
After dropping her for work, I hopped on the vicious 405 for Hollywood which took a good 2.5 hours of traffic with the Kendrick Lamar album on repeat.
Hiking up to the Hollywood sign has been on the bucket list and I am grateful to have crossed it off. The hike was sweaty, quiet, with rattle snake watches occurring and never enough water around to keep you going. I felt in a daydream by the time I was close to the sign, hallucinating for more water making me feel like I was indeed, in La La Land.
The Hollywood Boulevard was seedy. Souvenir shops, tourists, strip clubs. I felt the magic was lost and all that was left were the stars on the ground. Memories of times that were not so fake. After being ripped off by $30 in parking, I cruised down the Sunset Strip for none other than Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills. .
I walked into the shopping district past multi million dollar gated homes wearing a ball cap and sunglasses. Did I mean to look like a celebrity in hiding? No. I had indeed just come from the walk of death which was the Hollywood Sign and was covering up my disheveled looking mess that was. This look caused many to stare at me. A group of tourists all pointed and took a photo of me as I walked down Rodeo Drive. I wonder if they thought I was a celebrity or simply..a sweaty mess. Needless to say, Rodeo inspired me and I felt happy walking by Yves St Laurent, people with body guard around them, a tv show filming, and insanely rich cars driving by even I knew were special
Los Angeles was a total whirlwind but I am happy I got to experience it in my lifetime. Tomorrow I head back to the water where I'll be grooving out in hippy Venice Beach. For now- I desperately need a shower.
Got inspiration by Spanish and African styles..I made the hair messier in style to show that you still can look casual ☺️🦋🦋🦋 video : @haleyv713 🦋hair do by me @emcreationsbeauty #bevelyhills @cristophebeverlyhills #beverlyhillshairstylist
