Hey people a very Happy Eid ul Adha to you all. So we went out again and this time not only to celebrate Chaand raat but also for a very important celebration. Qamar sahab (my dear father) turned 58, and yes much needed it was to celebrate, and gosh the weather was harsh ya'll might have seen it in my instastory 🙈. We choose to dine at @bhaatigate in @thecentaurusmall . A nice addition it is to the town. A chic themed place with a vibrant filmy type interior setup where you can experience a beautiful collection of our lollywood films from the golden era of our films and truck art, my parents loved the setup. Yayyyy 😍
Coming to the food now... the weather was harsh with rain pouring out. As soon we settled, we were served with complimentry pakoras as appetizers, so yum, they were gone with the blink of an eye. I had ordered vegetable samosas as a starter too those came with chickpea gravy that was pure desi activity happening, no complains at all about that. The mains were Chicken Shinwari Karahi, Biryani, Bbq platters along with Naan, Salad and Yougart chutney. The Karahi was hmm type, not the explosion I personally had expected, if its #lahorifood why not like it??. The biryani was nicely done and the meat cooked nicely, the platters were okay type. The tikka botis served were like bomb of spice and I personally liked that, Qourma not nicely done. I'm actually seriously hurt watching such a perfect day turning out to be a food breakdown because of my choice of resturant which I expected to be legit. Well you can give it a try if you want, but I don't recommend this place for your personal occasions where you want each thing to be perfect 🙏
PS: The lasi we had was not what I had imagined it to be 😔. Frothy and bland 😡 the sweet one was sweet but the salted one tasteless, I mean why????? Why why???
Everytime you're driving on Islamabad highway your eyes catch a glimpse of a red board that says "BHAATI GATE". Centaurus. Third floor.
The pictures you see here are from that very place.
Picture 1. Cholay. They were pretty well made. Boiled to the right perfection and they tasted pretty good. But it could've used a little more of salt in there.
Picture 2. Nihari. Okay no. Do not got for the nihari. Meat was cooked just about right but it tasted bland. If it's a Lahori restaurant, why not spice it up like lahoris like it? (Meri ma ki nihari is waaaaay waaay better MashAllah)
Picture 4. Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. Take naans and these chapal kebabs with a can of chilled coke and believe me, you won't need anything else! Right amount of salt. Tasted like kachay keemay k kebabs too!
Good food overall but it could be made much better. And the service is extremely slow. Waaaay slow than most slow services. My food took a good 35 mins and that killed the whole charm. .
