Today’s Love Note is Breathe Deeply. I love that this has come out after I’ve just started diffusing some ‘Breathe’ essential oil! WHAT THE FRUIT IS A ‘HEAD-NOD?’
If you’ve ever been to a Pilates class, seen it on a TV show, watched a Denise Austin VHS (anyone? Just me?) you’ve heard this term.
Or “nod your chin.”
Or “open the back of the neck.”
But what does it all meaaaaannnnnn?
It’s actually super simple (as are so many things we over complicate).
It’s dropping your eye-gaze and letting your head follow.
It’s slight flexion of the neck.
It’s testing an avocado between your chin and chest (firm but don’t squish it!).
It’s all to initiate flexion.
Pilates *is* an awesome workout, but it’s absolutely akin to yoga in that you gotta keep your head in the game.
Keep your mind alive and pay attention to the sequencing.
It’s full body work, from the top of your head through the tips of your fingers and toes.
Learn something knew and have an awesome Tuesday, folks. 👍🏻

For today's mindfulness practice you will need one of your favorite essential oils. Find a comfortable seated position where you will not be disturbed for the next 5 minutes and place your essential oil a few inches under the chin. You will have to be more focused on the scent and therefore will take fuller breaths through the nose 👃, notice the smell and exhale fully. Repeat this for as long as you would like. a l i g n m e n t ☀️ Where were you this time last week? Last Sunday evening was spent making a nourishing soup and planning my first kundalini yoga class at the @zenlotnapa. So much has transpired in such a short time since. Tonight, let’s honor our bodies, give them the attention, love and care they deserve. This evenings practice is designed to stimulate and circulate energy flow and movement in the body, release stress hormones and support our glandular and nervous systems providing instant calm, clarity and harmony in mind body and spirit. This is a community based class and will be every week at the same time, 6:30-7:30 and include a short mediation. ✨

Or the rug that you're stretched out on with your dog? ❤️ The world offers itself freely to us! We can have our ideal method and practice and tools, but don't skip the meat of the matter because the dressing isn't perfect. It may be that five minutes of intentional quiet on a backyard chair is just the embrace you need! Contemplation and meditation is not about being good or doing it right...it's about accepting where you are, who you are and all of the infinite love located in that! Happy Monday friends ❤️
