Faith in the dictionary is: "Complete trust or confidence in someone or something". It can be in ourselves, in life, in the Universe, in the order which life presents situations and people to us, experienced etc. Faith is what helps many people through hardship, suffering and difficulties. When we are in faith, we no longer fear the outcome of that which we fear. When we are in faith, we choose to let love guide us instead of fear. When in faith, you let go and let God. When you are in faith, you let belief be your guiding energy. When going through a hard period in my life, I turn to my faith in the Universe, that it is providing me the experiences that I need to help my soul grow and to let my being become the individual that it is meant to become. When others in my surrounding or in the world are in pain or suffering, I focus on my faith that meditation, healing and prayers reach those in hardship and their hearts to provide some warmth and physical, mental and emotional uplifting. It is my faith that when need in healing, prayers bring on to us healing energy in the form of light and love, angels and guides, in order to help us get through it all. We are far form alone and we are always guided and protected by the most highest source. My dear friend, close to me as a sister, is going through treatment now for cancer and I wish to spread awareness of the power of faith and prayer. One of the reasons that I decided to incorporate Tantra was to reduce my impulsive symptoms and understand physical boundary. Many who do not know that BPD sufferer tend to be impulsive and sometimes they self harm (cutting, drinking, reckless driving or sex). I also had fear of touch which I decided to minimize through the practice of Jiu Jitsu and salsa dancing. Why? Because these two activities require intimate touches and I needed to understand the differences. If I didn't allow me the experience, my brain would never learn how to deal with distress regarding touch. Simultaneously, the practice of Tantra allowed me to focus on my mind and body while establishing a healthy boundary (what is acceptable/not acceptable, what I want/ don't want, not focusing on momentary feeling and thinking of consequences etc.). I have finished 13 months of my treatment while successfully keeping my boundary. That goes on saying that it is possible to minimize BPD self harming symptoms. And I intend to keep it this way until I finish my intensive phase of my treatment. As for me, incorporating activities, Tantra and therapy helped me to understand what is acceptable and what is not. So if anyone with BPD is struggling to understand the notion of physical boundary, I recommend incorporating Tantra as it also focuses on mindful breathing. Practicing mindfulness just works for BPD patients. Yes, I still struggle to identify my triggers but it is better than before. There is no right or wrong way of managing BPD. I am only sharing what is working for me. All I can say that it requires determination and persistence to manage symptoms. Write down what are the symptoms you want to focus on first. And work on it.
