My days in the fall are mostly spent out in the field (my favorite place to be). I go soil sampling which helps me and the farmer see how many nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, etc are left in the soil and what we need to apply. I love being able to see the all the different soil textures and it’s amazing to see how variable a field can be! Being an agronomist is rewarding in the fact your helping the farmer from start to finish and doing what’s best for the farmer - my job is truly rewarding! #farmgirlstrong#agvocate#AgMoreThanEver#agronomy#agronomist#soilsampling#soil#agriculture#cdnag

We are so delighted to have author, farmer and agriculture champion Jolene Brown with us as a speaker at our Niagara (Ontario) conference in October. She'll also be offering a workshop for attendees. Among other accompliments, Jolene has published a book “Holy Crap, I Married a Farmer!”, a collection of stories of farm women coping, adapting and managing the roles and expectations that come with farm life. Can't wait to hear from her!
