My mum was kind enough when she found these chocolate eggs in @sainsburys to take a photo for me! They're all gluten free! The options are Just Chocolate, Sainsbury's own brand and @moo_free_chocolates I cannot wait until Easter comes so I can try them!
There is something better?
Great steak tartare
Steak tartare is a meat dish made from raw ground meat. It is often served with onions, capers and seasonings (the latter typically incorporating fresh ground pepper and Worcestershire sauce), sometimes with a raw egg yolk, and often on rye bread.
Health concerns have reduced the popularity of this meat dish in some parts of the world because of the danger of contamination by bacteria and parasites. So for this reason is very important that the meat must be of high quality 🍖
Are you Celiac? Are you Hungry?
I don't eat out a whole lot, but I might if restaurants started coding their whole menus the way @sfsoupco does (such as V for Vegetarian, D for Dairy-free, and G for Gluten Free, which is the only thing I need to worry about). When I first got my celiac diagnosis, I thought my days of eating fish & chips were over. I almost wept when I discovered the GF fish & chips at the Burlingame location (which is called Urban Bistro). I'm not a food blogger or whatever; I don't know if this photo or my words can accurately do them justice. All you need to know is those fries are covered in white truffle oil and shaved Parmesan cheese. In my world, happiness can be bought for $14.50.

Made this last night via #hodgepodgeoclock ➡️ I documented it on stories but was on the wrong account 🤭 I sautéed onion, carrot and garlic. Then added garbonzo beans and added dill, cumin, S&P, cajun seasoning and dried mustard (my fave!). I added maybe 1/4 cup of water? Also some dashes of liquid aminos, a table spoon tomato paste and 2 tablespoons of #karamsgarlicsauce and simmered a bit. I ate it with roasted purple potatoes and cucumber (and a bite of left over salmon) - was a weird combo but hit the spot!
Today sucked all the zen from morning yoga class right out of me. An extremely offensive commercial from @partycity made me lose my cool big time. I harnessed the frustration (and Italian temper) for good and did my part to rally the gluten free community. Because many individuals took the time to speak up, the commercial has been pulled and apology issued.
If you want more specifics, head over to Baltimore Gluten Free on Facebook. .
This is The Thing: It wasn’t insensitive. It was mean-spirited. It’s still airing on @foodnetwork tonight, btw. And it’s not just celiac people who are being mocked here. It’s every person with a food allergy that takes them away from normal social interactions where food is served. The ad itself promotes looking down on people who are even slightly different. It pits women against each other. It takes a deep dig at a person with a medical condition.
This wasn’t a silly lapse in judgment or poor vetting. This is a revelation of the company’s core values. And all I can say is “Ewww, gross”.
It’s been a long day. I woke up and wrote a long rant about seeing Farmers Only and @partycity being dicks on their latest ad campaigns. I saw them both within 24 hours and I had enough. It’s pretty rare you can get me fired up enough to write a blog post when I’m away at a trade show. However; thanks to this amazing community at least Party City has pulled the offensive ad, offered an apology and is claiming to donate to a #celiac organization. Unfortunately the commercial still aired during the Kids Baking show on @foodnetwork. It’s hard enough to be a #glutenfree adult much less a KID. Shit you guys. We have a long way to go to educate the world about this #autoimmune disease. Thank you to my online family who took the time to call, write and Tweet these brands expressing your discontent. We’re all in this together. Thank you.
