This past weekend, was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I had an opportunity to be apart of the #Central60 celebration and to honor and thank the #LR9 . After my comments at the Interfaith Service, I had a chance to visit with my Hero's and personally thank them, in return they thanked me for being the fruits of their labor, and reminded me that fight must go on. #TigerPride#LRCHS
It’s been 60 years since the integration of Little Rock Central High School. Magna IV was proud to create a full panoramic of the school’s exterior with our magnetic sign system to honor the heroic actions of the #LR9 . #Central60 @lrcentralhigh60

The Little Rock Nine was a group of nine African American students enrolled in Little Rock Central High School in 1957. Their enrollment was followed by the Little Rock Crisis, in which the students were initially prevented from entering the racially segregated school by Orval Faubus, the Governor of Arkansas. They then attended after the intervention of President Dwight D. Eisenhower on September 25, 1957.
In the words of the late, great author and poet William Cuthbert Faulkner, "The past is never dead. It's not even past." Today, 60 years on, we celebrate 10 American heroes, Daisy Bates and the Little Rock Nine.
This why we had to kneel then and why we continue to kneel >>#Repost @thegrio (@get_repost)

I wanted to take a few moments this weekend to reflect on the legacy of The Little Rock Nine. Monday, we mark 60 years since these nine children stood up to a furious white mob outside of Central High School. Much has changed since that day in 1957 when these courageous young people integrated their school. Six decades later, far too many challenges remain. I was struck by these words displayed at the #LR9 memorial that speak loudly to us today. "The task that remains is to embrace our interdependence -- to see ourselves reflected in every other human being, and to respect and honor differences." -- #LR9 member Melba Pattillo-Beals 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 #LoveYourNeighbor#BeTheSolution .
