3. Quinoa bean kale burger with cucumbers, peppers and little edamame.
4. Roasted garbanzo beans .
5. Jambalaya wild rice red lentil stuffed peppers topped with salsa
6. Mixed greens, spinach, hummus and steamed tempeh salad

As we have stepped into the colder months, I've been eating more soups and stews. This is called kitchari, it's an Eastern Indian dish. I found it while studying Ayurveda (the world's oldest health system dating back to 5,000 yrs in India) It's great as a meal or as a cleanse. Kitchari is the most ancient form of detox. It resets and improves the digestion. Digestion is the cornerstone of health. We aren't what we eat, but what we digest. Our digestive system actually has a difficult time digesting cold/raw foods (smoothies, salads) and needs warmer foods, especially in the morning to wake it up and restore the digestive fire 🔥in order to digest anything. I now drink hot herbal tea with lemon first thing in the morning and then eat a warm breakfast of roasted veggies with quinoa or fried turkey or oatmeal with quinoa (quinoa for protein) I drink my smoothies at room temp and steam or lightly cook hard to digest veggies like kale & broccoli. I've seen so much improvement already in my gut and my bloating is way down! Cold drinks and food actually increase bloating and your digestive system constricts causing cramping and ibs. .
Ayurveda recommendeds a cleanse for each changing of the seasons. If you would like to do a 3-day cleanse and not feel "weird and anemic" like on a juice cleanse this cleanse is perfect. It's super easy to make and you won't feel hungry! Eating it 3x/day for 3 days in a row is called mono-mealing. It gives the gut a break & strengthens it. It's traditionally comprised of mung beans (actually a seed) & white basmatri rice cooked in ghee. I don't do a lot of grains or dairy, so I switched it to mung beans, quinoa & coconut oil. If you use rice, use white instead of wild or brown, easier on the gut to digest. Two weeks prior remove all processed junk foods, sugar, dairy and gluten. .
Ingredients: 2 cups quinoa, 1 cup mung beans (yellow split, may need to order online), 6 cups filtered water, 2 Tbs coconut oil, 1 red onion, 1 cup sweet potato chunks, handful of kale, 2 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp cumin, 2 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp sea salt. Garnish with cilantro or green onions...more or less spices to your liking.

Even after two candida cleanses and a bowel cleanse, oil of oregano really brought on the first Major wave of ridding my body of candida and overgrowth. Detox can be tricky to do without any help or guidance because it can be die off symptoms can be strong deterrents from keeping ok with cleansing. Oil of oregano is to be taken Internally, and in my opinion, the oil is more beneficial than capsule.
