This drawing is based on a witty comment I made on a Star Wars Concept Designer's IG @jakeluntdavies. His character, Constable Zuvio, had a toy but got edited out of Episode 7. At least he lives on in promo material and Lego Star Wars. He's teamed up with Pruneface, an equally obscure Star Wars Character who had a toy, but you'd have to pause a frame or two in Return of the Jedi in order to see him in the background. Basically, he's a movie extra who got his own action figure.
I imagine they would get into Lethal Weapon-like adventures. Zuvio, like Danny Glover, would be the veteran cop about to retire. Pruneface, like Mel Gibson, would be the wildcard.
This should be Cannon. If not, a sketch on Robot Chicken.
With J.J. Abrams returning to direct Star Wars: Episode IX, fans have been speculating as to which of the director’s go-tos will also be returning. Rest assured, Constable Zuvio will be among them. In our exclusive interview, Zuvio said through a translator: “J.J. always do me right. This will be my breakout role.” When questioned whether his brief cameo in The Force Awakens was his breakout role, Zuvio explained that this time his on-screen presence will be expanded from 4-frames of a second to 5-frames of a second. To that end, Zuvio has begun an intense regimen of method acting, staring into the mirror for 8 hours a day, practicing various facial expressions. It seems Zuvio’s agent has also negotiated to have the iconic blink-and-you’ll-miss-him character once again be among the first wave of action figures released for Episode IX. “My client is the Citizen Kane of pegwarmers. Not many aliens can say that.”
Still can't believe this was all the Black Series they had at ToysRus on Force Friday midnight launch. Frickin' Zuvio. Lol. Can't make this stuff up. (At least I was able to pickup the Vader Centerpiece set.) Went to Target after and the 2-3 cases they got of wave 12 were gone, and someone stashed the domino troopers somewhere, prob in the tampons aisle. #constablezuvio#forcefriday#starwarstheblackseries
Constable Zuvio Contest Winners!
Thank you to all participants for your time and creativity! The next one, I may be doing a small giveaway! (If I have money)
1st Place: @fjj_custom
Your custom made backpack and staff are AWESOME plus I love how Fifth Brother's hat looks on Goss Toowers head 👌
2nd Place: @i.do.lego
I think your outfit choice for Zuvio was the best, also using Chirrut's equipment was a neat idea too. I also like the inclusion of Embo's hat because him and Zuvio are the same species.
3rd Place: @lincolnslegos
I'm not entirely familiar with the face scarf you used (looks like Ninjago) but its a cool fit. I also appreciate your custom staff and the accessories you put on him!
Everyone did a good job though! Thanks again to all participants. Next figure contest will be sometime before The Last Jedi comes out.
Constable Zuvio: I think it's a little tragic that we didn't get to see the character in Force Awakens. I'm sure they had good reason, but to think he got a black series and 3'75" release meant at some point in production he was considered relatively significant. I held off buying him for some time, but as his price dropped and I took a closer look I decided why not. Happy I did, this is the 3'75" which has an incredible paint job and amazing sculpt.
Here is my custom Constable Zuvio for #battledroidbricksconstablezuviocontest ! Not my greatest custom but as I took some shots with this fig I came to like it 😂. Anyways, I used the torso from a gungan warrior I believe, tan arms and legs from my psare parts bin, and then Seasee Tin's head from the clone wars to get the yellow eyes look. I built his little backpack thing which I took inspiration from the black series figure. And finally I created the staff to resemble his, as well as gave him a pirate like gun like he has in the force awakens game.
Constable Zuvio Contest!
CLOSES JULY 7, 2017
Its been a couple of years since The Force Awakens has been released and we still haven't received a pinnacle character from the film, Constable Zuvio.
In order to show @lego that we need this fig made sometime, I'm holding a contest to see who can make the best Constable Zuvio based minifigure.
RULES OF ENTRY
1) You must use #battledroidbricksconstablezuviocontest
2) You must tag @lego in the picture or in the description
3) You can only use preexisting figure parts/molds, prints made by Lego. No custom paint jobs, Lepin junk, knock-offs.
4) In the description you must say which minifigure parts you used from what characters. They can be minifigure parts from any theme.
Basically try to make a figure that closely resembles Constable Zuvio as much as you can using pre-existing, officially released Lego minifigure parts!
1st Place - Story Shout out and Post
2nd Place - Recognition for being the second best in my finals post
3rd Place - Recognition for being the third best in my finals post (I know the prizes are terribly lame, but I'm broke. Also I want this to be more of a just for fun thing than a real competition.
Good luck to all participants!
For a new Star Wars film that was apparently actually good, (whereas seven was too campy), rouge one toys seem to be a major flop. I went to Gamestop yesterday and they had black series Jyn Erso's clearances for five bucks each. When i get around to watching the movie I'll decide whether I want to collect the line or not, until then I'm happy to get this guy at this price
