When looking at the success stories of this last weekend at the box office, a new film surprising everyone by posting impressive numbers. The Big Sick hitting a total of five theaters in New York and Los Angeles in limited release. Over the last three days, the film reportedly took in closer to $500,000 dollars which is a real triumph for a lower budget movie with so few screens during this summer season. The Big Sick stars Oscar winner Holly Hunter, What If star Zoe Kazan, Silicon Valley star Kumail Namjiani and Emmy winner Ray Romano. The movie examines the developing relationship between a man and woman when a serious illness gets in the way. Namjiani's character forced to then grow a relationship with Kazan's parents, played by Hunter and Romano. The Big Sick now expanding in the weeks ahead and filmmakers hoping to see huge success as it opens in more cities nationwide. In other box office news, Transformers 5 captured first place by taking in roughly $70 million over their long opening weekend.
