Let’s get really practical ... and fast!
We see it all too often businesses adding hashtags to their captions that are not positioning their content in front of the right users.
You know the statement people have said, “If you look up the word ‘dedicated’ you’ll see ‘John’s’ photo!”? (and use anyone’s name here)
That’s the underlying concept of the hashtag. Positioning your brand as the visual representative, the very definition of, certain words.
So to reverse engineer this in a way that makes sense, let’s break it down.
If you’re a chiropractor, don’t just add #chiropractor and then the name of your practice, (#FamilyChiro etc) because that’s not positioning you in front of the audiences. That’s one, too general and two, too specific considering most don’t know your business yet.
How to execute a proper hashtag strategy:
Create 30 hashtags that are intuitive to your target audience who is your prospect who may need what you do.
For a chiropractor, who and/or what situation has a propensity for adjustments? Local gyms, high school sports teams, running events / clubs, local yoga studios, triathlete teams as well as others that relate in a reverse way.
Simply research the hashtags in your local area and see which ones relate and have content that’s growing. Steer clear of those with 1M plus!
In your phone’s Notes app, list all 30. THEN, copy and paste them as the first comment IMMEDIATELY after publishing your post and not in the original caption!
Happy Hashtag’ing! Just remember - this is a marathon strategy and not a sprint! Just be consistent and watch your authentic following increase over time.

14/100 DAYS OF GRATITUDE: L O V E & E M B R A C E the journey! I see some people in my class too embarrassed to ask for help or for someone to look at their prep because they think it’s too embarrassing to share. I get that and i used to feel the same way until I realized.. I don’t care. I care more about getting help and not struggling on my own. I embrace how terrible my preps are and try to grasp every opportunity for help. I’m not ashamed- I’m just trying my best. I think people are too caught up in their heads and egos to ask for help sometimes. People are naturally stubborn and tell themselves I’ll just figure it out myself. But what i think some people don’t realize is often times one piece of advice (for example, using this burr and this hand piece) can save you 10 practice teeth and 20 hours in lab! I’m far from perfect- But the more I’ve shared my struggles with others the more positive responses I’ve got along the way. I’m not ashamed to show how many #30s i had to go through to get one decent looking one. My mom always tells me “great things never come easily” whenever I complain about struggling in dental school. And of course, she’s right. Dental school is hard, and yeah you have to put the work in, but you take it day by day and soon enough your hard work will pay off. #mydentaljourney#asiancarabelli
