Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to everyone who purchased Educated Latina gear this weekend.
Every single one of your purchases is going to help aid in the clean up and rebuilding from the recent natural disasters in Puerto Rico and Mexico.
Although this short campaign is over, we're nowhere near done.
We're working on some things behind the scenes that will lead to longevity in aiding our countries.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you again 💕
✨LETS LEARN TOGETHER ✨
🍂🍁Right about the time when the leaves start falling from our trees and our animals shed their coats, is when you will start to notice your Lash sets with only a few lashes remaining or big gaps in lash line or massive lash loss. 💆🏽Think about when you wash your hair at this time of the year, you find your hair comes out more and this is why, we are animals too. 🌔Hair protects us from the sun, so hair grows more in summer. In the autumn the sun is not out so much so we do not need the hair so much. 💥Hair also takes a lot of blood and energy to grow. So in the colder months our bodies are incredibly clever and it stops sending the blood and energy to produce new hair and sends it to your vital organs instead. This is mother nature at her best. ⚡️The good news is that this only lasts about 4-6 weeks give or take. 📚 We want to educate you about this and get you to book your retouches every 2 weeks. 👨🎤 We as artist will Lighten the thickness we normally use to keep it safe as the lashes you have available to lash will be finer and not as strong . By teaching our clients about this will ease the shock and just remember that it doesn't last forever. 💫 •Info credit @frankiewiddows •
"I'm a senior studying psychology and Mexican American studies at UTRGV. I'm a catechist at my local parish/diocese and an activist with social justice orgs at my university and around the Rio Grande Valley. Being Latino to me is a blessing to empower myself and my community with unconditional love and knowledge. It's being able to blossom like a cactus flower in the face of adversity. We work hard and we're proud of our roots. Soy chingona y soy Chicana." - @rubyf219 ◻️◻️◻️◻️We are so excited to have our first feature! I am incredibly happy to announce that I have officially hired my first real estate assistant. Cecy was one of the top students of her graduating class at Morton East and is now pursuing her bachelors in accounting at UIC.
Cecy is a problem solver and a critical thinker. I'm excited she has joined the team and will help us take our business to the next level.
It seems like we're always waiting for Friday and the weekend
Today i'm reviewing advanced inorganic and quantum chem notes/hw and working on my micro notebook. This weekend I will be studying advanced topics in biochemistry and microbiology since I have my first midterms for those topics next week. Might I also add that they're 15 minutes apart from each other. Don't you guys love when that happens?
Good luck to everyone grinding on the weekend and making their dreams a reality✨💚
I can't stop thinking of my family's beautiful island 🌴

Juntos podemos hacer la diferencia
It's incredible to think how far I've come . Not only physically but mentally . Growing up I was never thought of as the smart child . Growing up I was never encouraged to think about my education . Sure my parents wanted me to do good in school, but growing up and being told constantly over and over that the expectations that many have of me was to find a man to support me and raise a family was honestly very hard. Because i always knew there was more to life than just being someone's wife . honestly , i didn't even know what a Bachelors degree was until I got to the age of 16 because those around me never spoke to me about college and the opportunities that it may give me . T minus 12 weeks until I'm officially done with my undergrad .. its honestly really emotional for me to even think about it because being a first generation college student has been the biggest transition I have ever had to make . As I write this paper about poverty in the United States it all comes down to one thing .. social class . Let me tell you something .. getting a college degree does not guarantee you money .. I know so many college graduates that are struggling to find a job . Many people forget that it's no longer about what we know .. but instead WHO we know . In 12 weeks my 4 years as an under grad at California State University Dominguez Hills will come to an end . And honestly these 4 years I have grown so much as a person . Going to college has made me so humble . I seriously thank god everyday that my parents were able to help me out by sending me to college . A lot of people go to college for their own benefit. The reason I went to college is because I want to repay my parents for all the sacrifices they have made for me. My Bachelors in Sociology with a minor in women studies is not only for me .. but for them . Iam so fortunate to have them . On my graduation day expect tears bursting out from every person in my family because regardless of all the odds being against me .. this Mexican girl , who suffered from depression, made it 💪🏼🎓 #shesgotherown#educatedlatina#behumble#stayonyourgrind#education#enligjtenment#foreverastudent#csudh#soontobealumni#chingona
Our #SisterSpotlight goes to Señorita Iris ‘Damia’ Zamudio from our Resilient Xi Class for her feature on @educatedlatina !

When you take back a term....
When you demand respect....
I often think about what the label 'Latina' means and how it makes non Latinx project on to me.
The hoodrat stereotype, the theif stereotype, the knife wielding Puerto Rican stereotype....
And of course, the 'uneducated' stereotype and the idea that lack of formal education is the same thing as lack of worth.
Do you know where we come from?
Do you know the culture and beauty that come from OUR people?
Don't tell me we're not worthy.
Don't tell me we're not enough.
Every Latinx I've met has told me some story about a BRILLIANT family member who never got a chance at school.
I'm making it my mission to end that here in the U.S.
And it starts with a belief in ourselves.
We are all educated Latinas
We are all educated Latinos
We are all valuable.
Pa que tu lo sepas 🙌🏽
You can click the link in my bio and hit "shop" to rock one of these tees.
Get it for your mama, your wela, your favorite Titi or Tia.
Let them know how valuable you think they are
Let me be the first to tell you, this job is not for everyone! I sacrifice a lot to do what I do. Not only as a manager, but as a dam good mother, and student! This isn't something to idolize either, if any young women can take anything from me, it's what not to do! You have a chance to do things right! Get your degree, start your career, get married, then have children. The sacrifices I had to make to get here, I don't wish upon anyone... it has effected my relationships, my sanity, my freedom, and not to mention my children and their stability they should of had when they were brought into this world. #careermom#momof3#momlife#motherhoodunplugged#slay#slayqueen#motherhood#singlemom#educatedlatina#educatedmommy#latinamom#latinapride#bossbabe#badassery
Siempre llevo Puerto Rico y Mexico en mi corazon 💕
And right now, it's important to remember that there are people in these countries that need our help.
Check on your family, see how you can help, reach out to local organizations and most importantly-talk about it.
Don't let these countries be ignored in their time of need.
Me amo mis paises 💗
By now you are familiar with the Educated Latina logo, but do you know what the symbols mean? They are the essence of what it means to be an #educatedlatina . #latinx#collegelife
You are the Queen of your universe. You are mistress of your kingdom, worthy to be great! It’s your destiny and future.
This represents Latinas, seeking to uplift ourselves and our community through higher education. We would not have gotten this far without the strength of the women before us as well as our own perseverance to reach our goals.
Seek guidance through the stormy seas of life. Trust that it will help find a way to make it to your destination.
You are precious and valuable. It’s the pressures of life make you shine!

If you have been brutally broken, and still manage to be gentle to others, you deserve to be a 👑. It doesn't mean that you are perfect, it means that you are full of compassion, and no matter what you have endured, you have tried to put your best foot forward.... Don't forget you need to be the person that values you the most, everything and anything else is a blessing. Hold your head high, apologize and forgive when necessary and walk in your strength 💪

Why did you join Lambda Theta Nu?: Growing up, I never understood what having a sister meant. I would see my cousins or TV shows showing women sharing that special bond with each other, but Lambda Theta Nu has opened that door further than I ever imagined possible. Alongside the empowerment of our machetes, the drive that every young aspiring Latina has shared with me thanks to this wonderful organization is also something that I will always appreciate, as proud, brown sister of Lambda Theta Nu. 🌹🌹💓✨ #CourageousCuatro#OnlyTheFiu#ΑΗΘ#EducatedLatina
Behind the scenes from my mini shoot today with some amazing Latinas at Harvard!
These women are all so amazing. They inspire me in so many ways. Their presence at an institution like this is so important and special. We represent so many different skills and abilities and backgrounds and families and countries..... it's powerful.
Oh and did I mention we have Masters AND Doctorate candidates here?
I can't wait to share more pics from the shoot. Thank you to all my modelas and our very talented 'videographer' @crimson_creole
Y'all the best 💕
