Side-lying Thoracic Spine Rotation
▪️Set Up: Top leg on foam roller to line it up with hip / Hand holds leg to lock pelvis in place / Other hand on forehead to prevent arm & shoulder from leading the rotation
▪️Movement: Start rotating the Thoracic Spine (to the right, in this example), and think of reaching the right Scapula towards the floor. After several repetitions, hold for a Passive Stretch. Taking slow breaths, sink deeper into the rotation with every exhale.
Thoracic Spine Rotation in Sphinx Pose
▪️Set Up: Pelvis in a posterior tilt / Forearms push into floor, elbows pull towards hips, and chest reaches up & forward to create Irradiation ▪️Movement: As the Thoracic Spine starts rotating, the right elbow will slowly lift off the floor. Assist the rotation as little as possible with the arm. Once at end range, slowly return, again putting as little weight on the hand as possible. Depending on someone’s range of motion, the arm may not fully extend. Most importantly, the pelvis should stay anchored during the spinal rotation.
Half-Kneeling Thoracic Spine Rotation PAILs/RAILs
▪️Set Up: Pelvis in a posterior tilt / Hold strap and pull it apart to create Irradiation (also makes it harder to simply move the arms as opposed to rotate from the spine)
▪️Movement: With the spine rotated, the arms reach towards the floor while pulling the band apart. For the PAILs contraction, attempt to rotate towards the front against the block created with the left arm and right leg. For the RAILs contraction, increase the rotation towards the right. With every repetition, move the left arm up to start out PAILs in more rotation.

We've set up cricket nets in the Championship Village and our amazing Zayed Cricket Academy coaches will be on hand to give you some pointers. Not only that, but we've set up speed sensors so you can see how your bowling measures up against the likes of Lasith Malinga or Stuart Broad.
Last but not least....we will be joined in the event village on Thursday, Friday and Saturday by a VERY special guest!
