'What We Have Left', by Hannah Gaskill, is an emotional representation of how it feels to have lost a loved one. Consistent visual style highlights the variation in narrative of each piece, while the use of object documents the trace left behind. The alternative perspective of those who have lost allows an insight into life after loss, seemingly banal objects now have an abnormality due to this change of context. Self-reflection is a central point of focus for this work, intentionally stressing the importance of appreciation for family and friends.
Hannah Gaskill's work will be on display at the interim show at @paradiseworksstudios on 14/12/17, 6-8pm 📸
