🐬Who would enjoy seeing these beauties in the wild? 🐬 For many this is a dream come true. People travel to the islands of Hawaii hoping to make those dreams a reality. But unfortunately without the proper know how. When I’m out on the water I witness individuals kicking for dear life hopelessly trying to keep up with fast paced swimmers that dolphins are. Often people struggle as their legs can’t keep up. And I observe people diving down between dolphins, which separates the pod into different groups leaving them unsecured. Which can be disastrous for the pod as they’re safer when tightly packed together and relaxed. I’ll be the first to admit, my very first encounter with the dolphins wasn’t pretty 🙅🏼. I was with a couple of girls and they were so excited but very very loud splashing everywhere just trying to keep up with the pod. I didn’t have the knowledge that I have now to know better. Although, I do remember trying to keep quiet thinking they probably would prefer that over me shrieking like a schoolgirl. 😂 With the excitement of such a surreal moment it is easy to become swept away and letting your excitement lead your actions. But did you know dolphins are very curious? Often times they’re so inquisitive, they will come to you if you stay put and don’t follow. You see when we force human/animal interactions and we take the lead. There can be unintentional adverse effects on the animals as well as the ecosystem as a whole. This can be applied to any situation, deforestation of rainforests, ocean interactions, touching baby animals to “help”, over fishing, large game hunting etc. The beauty of nature though is that it always has a way of keeping the balance. It’s not our job to intervene even if it’s unbeknownst to us that we we doing so. Every animal has a role to play in keeping the scales balanced and healthy. If you have any questions I am happy to teach you proper ocean etiquette so you and the animals can have the very best experience! •

Happy #alohafriday everyone. It's been a crazy week of wind, work, sadness at the loss of people around us, a trip to the ER for jessica for the worst migraine she's ever had, business wins and setbacks, and lots of rain and not a lot of sleep.
It's been a crazy week.
Here's to the weekend. Two fun weddings. A healthier home. And some sleep (at some point). I hope you have a great weekend!
I needed this rainbow this AM, it served as a much needed pick me up. This week has been less than par and ya girl is to blame. Perspective is everything and boy did I let everything get to me this week. Small things people, so so small. So here's to having a full belly, a car that drives me, a home to sleep in, and people to love. Because at the end of it I am incredibly blessed. Happy #alohafriday friends!
