F A L A F E L: last nights dinner was so delicious. I was craving something homemade that I could make into a big platter and enjoy eating with my hands! I made falafel (first time not from a box 😱) tzatziki, naan and some leftover Mediterranean lentil salad that I served with it, chipotle flavoured hummus from @picknpay and a small pickled carrot salad. The falafel was mildly spicy, the tzatziki creamy, and the naan pillowy soft. I used @littlespicejar recipe for the falafel and @saj_zn recipe for naan.

This is a late post of Sunday nights dinner and my Monday morning weigh in update. But before anyone gets too excited about the baked falafels that I made, you might have to lower your expectations of this dish. Or you can look at it from another angle, a new interesting way of possibly dying, as that is what it felt like as I inhaled these little medallions of dry dust straight into my windpipe. So, in the interest of full disclosure, I too have many food fails, but it just means that with every batch it will get better.
On the weight loss front, very happy to announce that I dropped 2.6 lbs and am now down to 291.1 lbs, bringing in the total weight loss to 18.4lbs. I am in absolute shock that those are the numbers I'm seeing, and I'm attributing it all to a plant based whole food vegan diet and God. Again, I'm a foodie and you will see me eat on occasion things that do not conform to this diet, but im ok with it, because I'm choosing an 80/20% approach so that I can maintain this way of life for the long haul. I will say this though, It's been a month of this change and everyday it's getting easier and easier to make the right choices. My body feels as if it's switched from feeling starved and craving sugar to craving fruits and vegetables. I now feel genuine joy when eating food that is filled with life giving nutrients. But don't get it twisted, I'll still f**k up a delicious pastry if you put it close to my pie hole, and poof like a 👻 it will be gone with the wind fabulous 😇

Yesterday's dinner was at a Lebanese friend's house and we had this wonderful meal : Taboulé, coriander falafels, stuffed leaves and hummus ! It's great when a friend is making an effort to please your food's choices !
