After having a not-so-great day yesterday, I was excited to get out for a run today and be productive. However, some sneaky black ice found me, and I slipped and fell.... whacked my head so hard on the ground I apparently passed out 😞 Woke up to a crowd of people around me yelling “someone call 911 she won’t wake up!!” 🤦🏻‍♀️ welp. The stubborn ER nurse in me refused a visit to the hospital lol, so now I’m back to laying in bed super frustrated... with one hell of a headache. You win winter, you win. .

Daktyle odcedzamy dodajemy masło orzechowe i blendujemy do uzyskania jednolitej masy. Dodajemy orzechy, mieszamy. So 12 days ago I made 1 of the most irrational decisions I’ve ever made in my life. And yea I could of planned it better, definitely had better contingencies in place, but in that moment I knew it’s what I had to do. And as I start my day in my last week in my office job and will end the week pursuing a long term goal of mine, I am beyond terrified of what is going to happen. But those are the things you should do, the things that scare the shit out of you. Because these are the things that will develop you, and make you into what you are meant to be. And I’m so lucky to have such an amazing support system that has zero doubt I’m going to be alright. It’s not gonna be easy, but it’s for damn sure going to be worth it. #mondaymotivation .

Als je ’s ochtends de slapers uit je ogen wrijft heb je al een aantal uur niks gegeten. Tenzij je van de midnight-snacks bent en een hele bak ijs leeg hebt gelepeld. De gedachte is vervolgens dat je lichaam over zou gaan op vet als primaire energiebron wanneer je begint te bewegen, omdat er geen koolhydraten voorradig zijn. Klinkt aannemelijk, maar het is een ietwat te simplistische beredenering.⠀

Er wordt alleen vet opgeslagen wanneer de snelheid van lipogenese (creatie van vet) de snelheid van lipolyse (afbraak van vet) structureel overtreft. Dit is een constant proces, waarbij het nettoresultaat over de gehele linie telt. Als er meer vet wordt gecreëerd dan dat er wordt afgebroken dan kom je aan en wanneer er meer vet wordt afgebroken dan dat er wordt gecreëerd dan val je af. De energiebalans is hier altijd leidend in.⠀

Als je tot hier nog niet bent afgehaakt, high-five! Laten we door hobbelen. In de eerste fase van het afslankproces worden vetzuren (triglycheriden) afgebroken om als brandstof te dienen. Alleen de afbraak van vet is echter niet voldoende. De vetten moeten ook daadwerkelijk verbrand worden. Deze tweede fase van het afslankproces noemen we met een ander woord; het oxidatieproces. ⠀

Cardio op nuchtere maag zorgt namelijk wel voor meer afbraak van vet, maar het oxidatieproces blijft hetzelfde wanneer je van tevoren een maaltijd consumeert. Hieruit kunnen we concluderen dat het oxidatieproces de limiterende factor is en dat cardio op nuchtere maag geen noemenswaardig groter effect heeft op het afslankproces dan cardio op een willekeurig tijdstip.⠀

Je kunt dus gerust een banaantje pakken voordat je kilometers gaat vreten. Of pannenkoeken. Of banaanpannenkoeken met pindakaas. ⠀

By comparing yourself to the person you were yesterday you can make improvements. Be happy with your progress and be more content. Also you won't set crazy expectations

First, here's today's thought because this morning I came across a cashier who is usually not very friendly and on top of that made her colleague feel bad for asking her for help. You don't gain anything from proofing someome else is wrong or trying to make someone feel small. How you make others feel about themselves says a lot about you. Bringing someone down won't make you any happier. Focus on becoming the best version of yourself and on who you are and who you want to be. Don't try to blame others for your situation, you are the only one who is responsible for your happiness.

Here my quad focused leg day:
I started out with a SS of back squats and banded squats and went as heavy as I could. After that I did 4 other super sets:
• SS front squats - goblet squats
• SS narrow stance leg press - single leg bench squat with a 10kg (22lb) plate
• SS box squats - dumbell single leg stiff-leg deadlift (what a word 🙄)
• SS Leg extensions - lying leg curls
