Day 6 Arbizu to Urbasa National Park. Another beautiful ride with an incredibly steep climb on pavement on the way to Urbasa national Park. Gravel roads and some off trail route finding lead us even deeper into Urbasa National Park where we wild camped. The scenery didn’t disappoint again. Our legs are getting stronger and the climbing is getting easier. This is a good thing because we’re not done yet. #fitzymtbstoke#salsacycles#adventurebybike#bikepacking @kkoons
Day 5 Lekunberri to Arbizu. Today was another unbelievable day with some severely mixed terrain. The theme is the same. A mix of single and two track, hike a bike, pavement and more tunnels. The views just keep getting better. We are certainly in the mountains now. We rode through Aralar National Park with the hope of camping out there. However, the weather forecast was not on our side. Our better judgement told us to descend the mountainside and push forward to the town of Arbizu where we got a hotel room for the night. The descent was a highlight. We passed many horses, sheep and some insane rock climbing crags. Wow, It just doesn’t stop amazing us. This is AWESOME. #fitzymtbstoke#salsacycles#adventurebybike#bikepacking
Day 4 San Sebastián to Lekunberri. After a wonderful layover in San Sebastián we got back on the bikes. The day started off with some singletrack riding and a bit more hike a bike near town. As we continued to progress away from the big city, a mix of gravel and two track with significant elevation gain got us back into the countryside with incredible vistas. After some time we were back on the Camino and an old railroad trail passing through some 27 tunnels in route to our final destination for the day where we camped outside. Yes, there are trout in the river that we rode next to. I should have brought a tenkara fly rod. 🎣 #fitzymtbstoke#salsacycles#adventurebybike#bikepacking
Day 3. Strava died. 12.5 mi 1500ft elev gained. It was a short day today. But still longer than Strava indicated with more miles and elevation gained than what the image says. We left camp and headed for Orio to have a second round of Caffe con leche and croissants. Mmmmm. We’re loving the food scene here. Also, the looks we get about our bikes are pretty great too. Tons of head nods and several weird looks and the occasional picture taken of the bikes. We arrived in San Sebastián at our Airbnb, washed some clothes took showers, had a couple glasses of vino tinto and are heading out for a “fancy” meal. Layover day mañana. The food tour is going to be super sick. Standby. #fitzymtbstoke#salsacycles#adventurebybike#bikepacking
Day 2 Galdona to Zarautz, Basque. Apparently upland bird hunting and skeet shooting are big thing here in Basque and Spain. We’ve see so many Brittany’s aka Bretton dogs and I had a good chat with a fella about his trophy’s and accolades. See the photo attached. Of course it was mostly pointing, body language and sharing pictures. We got a pretty late start to the day (12:00) and rode some serious hike a bike sections on the Camino. More good food and vino before stopping at another established campground at a super hot surf spot. We’re headed to San Sebastián tomorrow for a layover and food tour. More to come. #fitzymtbstoke#salsacycles#adventurebybike#bikepacking
Day 1 ride along the Camino Del Norte. Bilbao to Galdona, Basque. A mix of pavement double and singletrack. One of the greatest parts of this ride was having lunch in the sister cities of Boise, Idaho and Gernika, Basque. So far everything is going well. Except for when a flip flop fell off of Kate’s bike AFTER I had suggested a different way of attaching it to her seat bag. Whoopsie. I rode back “uphil” on a singletrack to look for it. Thank goodness, I found it. Saved. We ate lunch and met several locals who have been to, lived in, or have family in Idaho. We found a nice place to camp in an established campground. A couple glasses of Vino, dinner and a shower rounded out the day. #fitzymtbstoke#salsacycles#adventurebybike#bikepacking#ajrideson
This morning we put the bikes together and made our way in to town. We needed two things that we were not allowed to fly with. Isobutane fuel for our stove and CO2 cartridges for our tubeless tire repair kit. We rode to downtown Bilbao to a sporting goods store called Decathlon. WOW, they had everything. And I mean Everything! Glad to know that there will be one of these stores in all tree major towns we’ll be passing through. We sat down for a few drinks and to inhale some calories. The “Pintxo”, Basque for Tapas was wonderful. I can see us stopping to eat these a lot. We rode some singletrack back to the hotel and tested out our setups a little more thoroughly. All is well. We’ll get started on the route tomorrow morning. #rideforward#bikepacking#salsacycles#salsafargo#fitzymtbstoke
With a break in the weather after waking up to snow falling, today's ride consisted of a lot of mud, 37 degree temps, 22 miles and best part of all... incredible views, beautiful fall colored leaves changing on the aspens and the fresh air. #lovewhereyoulive ---

Pretty epic out there right now. Sand is firm... Until it isn't, then you're pushing. But it's still epic.
If you haven't fatbiked sand dunes yet, you have to add it to your list.
Well that was quick... winter is officially here in the #tetonvalley . With the seasons changing that means activities start to change as well.
This weekend, we officially picked up our very first "Gravel Bikes" (@salsacycles #salsafargo ). With DH/Enduro as my first passion when it comes to bikes, the first thought I had of stepping on a gravel bike wasn't exactly "stoked". I was looking at it strictly as a way to train, to put miles on the bike and increase my endurance.
The next thing you know, I'm out at a @salsacycles demo hosted by @fitzgeraldsbicycles and between the Awesome Salsa Rep (Eric) and all the bike shop employees I'm not only buying the bike but I'm getting completely stoked on all the amazing opportunities to do things like bike pack adventures, hot spring tours and even taking this thing on some Singletrack!!!
What can I say, I'm hooked and stoked for more adventures by bike!
I dream about dune riding. #Repost @aaronrcouch
Yeeehheeeewww! Today's @fitzgeraldsbicycles dune mission was a success! How's that for human-powered adventuring?! Pictured: Derrick Nobman getting sick air on a @SalsaCycles Mukluk #FatbikesAreMountainBikes#FitzyMTBstoke#idahome
Before this summer I would avoid features like this due to the fear (which is new for me as I get older). Now I am learning to push harder and enhance my bike handling abilities and that means seeking out jumps, drops, corners, technical climbs, technical descents and push myself to take them and become more and more confident on my bike. #newskills#iamsj
Relationship status: Taken.... with my new bike🕺🙌🚵 They say that money can't buy you happiness, but it just bought me this bike and I am one happy girl!!! .
We built this bad boy Trek carbon Lush frame up since it was one of the few frames with a stand-over height that fit my tiny body. Thank you a million times @fitzgeraldsbicycles for putting up with me! The stoke is real. Now I just need winter to go away...#fitzymtbstoke#christmasmorning#trek#pikeforks
