This is a throw back to when Bella instructed a class @sothebys Here is an excerpt from what she spoke about, and if you are interested in signing up for another class she is conducting @prattinstitute with @flowerschoolny search online for details! “Listen to your flowers,” reminded Bella Meyer, founder and creative director of Fleurs Bella, as she supervised guests twisting branches and snipping stems at her floral arranging workshop at Sotheby’s this past Sunday. After mingling over mimosas and coffee, Meyer led participants in designing their own playful arrangements of white, aubergine and aptly-named Picasso calla lilies (colours selected in honour of Sotheby's Designer Showhouse and Auction.) It’s an art that Meyer, the granddaughter of Marc Chagall, has made her own – and warmly shares. ”More and more I realize that when I talk about arrangements, I speak in artistic terms – colours, movement, energy, story," she says. “In a way, it’s as if I were painting.” #fleursbella 🎞Scroll 3 images.
Picking up a week old weekly from our friends @yinovacenter ... Now that’s a mouthful! We were surprised that these #gladiolus were still in bloom! Flowers are amazing, and there is so much to learn about them. Weekly accounts will teach you a lot about what will last and what won’t. And Sally’s sweater was totally picture worthy. #NewYorkersWithFlowers
When I was in Japan, they had a festival where they would sell these branches that had flowers that looks like little lanterns. They looked as if they were fake. The other day at @acmoorecrafts I got to design an arrangement using those same Japanese Lantern branches. (This time they are fake 🤣) #floraldesigners#acmoore#japaneselantern#silkflowers#fallarrangement
One of the biggest parts of our creative design process includes orchestrating a floral #mockup up for our #Wedding clients which normally takes place at our #Lotusproduction#Showroom about 1 to 2 months prior to the wedding day.
A mock up is essentially an opportunity to set up a complete table for clients so they can see their #flowers ,#rentals , #linens , napkins , plate chargers, #votives , decorative items and other miscellaneous details all together in advance of the #wedding day. Mock ups allow ample time for our clients and us to troubleshoot details ahead of the big day. We used to only offer mock ups to clients that requested them but over the past year or so, we have included them in our #Decoration services so they are available to everyone. These personalized mock ups are such a tremendous asset to the way we serve our clients. Because our very own in-house #floraldesigners and our creative setup team are so involved in the design of an entire wedding, there are hundreds of details being proposed from our end to the client’s for consideration. While many can come across as straight forward (e.g. ‘an 8 foot table’ which is easy to picture), some require a bit more of a description and even, seeing in person to make sure every one involved is on the same page (e.g. ‘a garden compote created with blush floral varieties in a gold compote vessel’; What shade of blush? What size of container? Are we talking a brassy or a mercury glass gold?).
Our goal as designers and providers is to ensure we are delivering what our client will love in order to meet their expectations.
We are at the beautiful #Salamanderhotels today and This amazing Mock-up #centerpiece arrangement is for one of our VIP client who is getting married in less than two months! #marrylikeaboss#AllinclusiveweddingsByLotus
