3 Alphadale Rd, Lindendale.
In preparation for our next mumhub event, Renee & Emma (child-free) and Roman and I had lunch at the S.P.
It was my first time there and our First lunch with Em - our newest mumhub gal pal!
Location is so beautiful. Great setout. Heeeeaappss of room for kids to roam free and lots of pram space. Baby Change in the toilets. More than 4 highchairs available. Staff were lovely and very accomodating.
The menu was reasonably priced and not a massive one, which I personally love because it gets way too overwhelming with too many choices. I don't like chocolate but Renee said they do the Best Hot Chocs! The only downfall was that they werent overly flexible with changes to meals. But overall we enjoyed our time at the Spotted Pig. Would highly recommend.

What adventures did you get up to this weekend?! Did anyone try out the tasty @honeycafe_takapuna ? Dreaming of the Honey Comb Mascarpone 🤤🍯🐝
▪️Ohakune Fried Chicken-2.5/5▪️ ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ I don’t really like giving bad reviews but I wasn’t impressed with this place at all. We entered the restaurant and it was empty. It was quite late and slightly snowing so that could’ve been the reason. We found a table and waited almost 15mins for someone to serve us. When a waitress finally came around to serve us, it felt like she wanted us to leave so that she could close early. Her friendly customer service felt forced but seeing as it was a cold night and the restaurant empty, I can almost sympathise with her attitude however, a tiny bit of friendly customer service goes a long way, especially since I feel it sets the tone for enjoying a good meal. We ordered our meals which took almost an hour to come out from the kitchen and seeing as the restaurant wasn’t busy, I thought our wait time was ridiculous. I ordered the fried chicken and for $28 was not worth the price! I had 4 tiny pieces chicken which were so dry I couldn’t finish it. My wedges were perfect and coleslaw ok’ish’. My friend ordered the starter Kings wings for $18 and I would have preferred to pay $28 for that. She had a bowl full of chicken wings, a tad dry but the sauce was good . Overall I didn’t enjoy my meal and the others I dined said their meals were average. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend as I’ve tried other restaurants in Ohakune which are better.
Trust me when I say that potato doesn't work on this pizza. This is coming from a spud fanatic. But if you takeaway those smushy chunks of potato then you're actually left with a decent pizza. Good structured and textured base, delicious chunks of stretchy mozarella, tasty tomato flavour and saltiness from the sausage. A little chilli would have done this guy wonders. As usual, I had food envy staring at the hubby's pizza topped with chicken, sausage and rocket. The tomato, mozzarella, basil and pesto antipasti could stand alone as a main especially when we realised it came with plate of pizza bread. All elements were delicious and fresh.
Pizzas come as standard as 12" and this one costs £8.50. Salad was £6.50.
There's not much indoor seating. There are a few tables at the front facing a fairly busy road. So come on a sunny day or order to takeaway. 🍕🍕🍕/5

Yesterday, Stevie and I had an impromptu lunch at The Gallery Café in Ballina and as usual, it was delightful! The service is second to none, the food is amazing for brekky and lunch and its reasonably priced. Highly recommend the pulled pork burger! Or if you already ate lunch before going to second lunch like Stevie 😂, they do have ‘light lunch’ options (or if you’re in to that ‘small portion size’ thing…. Don’t know what that’s about but apparently people do that….🤷🏽♀️). We were joined by the 2 of the 3 FABDADS half way through, Benji and Ants 👨🏾👨🏾 [that is totally going to be a thing for the MUMHUB dads. I am making it happen…. **Regina George Voice** “stop trying to make FABDADS happen Em, it is never going to happen”] and my hubby had the steak burger and it really filled him up! Which is not a regular occurrence. There’s tonnes of room for the little ones to run around on the grass and a huge box of toys to keep them entertained, which with an older kid, I absolutely love! 😍😍 There are heaps of highchairs and a baby change and I just have to come back to the service. It is so lovely to feel so genuinely welcome with your kids not just by the staff but also the owner personally. Stasi runs the coffees, takes the orders and serves the customers, always with a smile. As a dad himself, he’s been really supportive of MUMHUB and has made a really generous donation for our raffle at our event next week. We LOVE the Gallery and will certainly be back again, it’s a local favourite! 👌🏼👌🏼 Em X
#WeekendTummyTammer is back 🤗 and this time I'm going to review the fancy bites we had from @swissotelthestamford @cityspacebar
My bf and I usually avoid fancy pretty dining because the taste is not as good as the looks, but this time we went to fancy pretty dining place (lounge, to be exact) because I wanted the best ambience for his birthday.
But surprise surprise, the fancy food we ordered is not just about display. The cured meat bites consisted of 4 different cured meat, all are in different salty and chewy level. I love the over-toasted bread - even if it was unintentional to be overtoasted, the bitter taste enhance the meat and olive taste. The meats themselves are pretty good, i think it's of high quality (im not cured meat savvy). The wagyu is soft, but the balance ingredients of pickle and other stuffs I dont know make each bite full of burst. I love the drink, Singapore Girl. The bitter tinge of grapefruit is a nice recipe to copy. .
I cant say this is the best food i've ever tasted, but for the price, service and ambience we had (+-$60 for everything), it's worth it. The memory is impeccable, truly.
I regret not trying the fries HAHA
A throwback to #dubai and to the days where inbetween visiting numerous restaurants, I was inspired to create smoothie bowls 🍌blend bananas, coconut milk, cacao powder, dates (or any other natural sweetener) & garnish as you wish! 💜 as well I made extra dark chocolate granola for one of the toppings 🍫 yumm!

P.s. Didn't like the Turkish restaurant in Colombo. In my opinion there was nothing Turkish about it. I'm not a food blogger but Turkish cuisine is one of my favorite and I was honestly sad to experience something that was not even remotely closer to Turkish food, hence I thought I'll write something briefly here. (Food bloggers, please don't be offended but I feel like I have a right to do this particular review since I have a close relationship with Turkey- been there, lived there, married to a Turk!) Only liked the hummus. The lentil soup was literally a Sri Lankan dhal curry, blended. We gave our feedback on our first visit a few months back but nothing has changed 😞 If anyone wants authentic Turkish food, I'd be happy to cook it for you! 😅😝 P.p.s. I don't know how to hashtag this! 😂

I (Em) took Stevie to my favourite little coffee spot! @orio_cafe in Alstonville. This is my home town and where my daughter goes to preschool so I tend to drop in here a lot... most days.... ok, nearly every day for my post-dropoff caffeine hit. (The girls don't even ask for my coffee order anymore 😂) The coffee is incredible 👌🏼 the food is amazing and affordable, you definitely get the quality you pay for. The all day brekky menu is a favourite of mine - second breakfast anyone!? 🍳
There are little high chairs that strap to the regular seats and it's easily accessible by pram. The staff are great with the kids and in winter there's a little basket of blankets outside to use if you get chilly in the mornings. There aren't bathrooms at the cafe but at the plaza just across the road there's a large parents room. Highly recommend the brekky bruschetta, French toast, pies, everything... I recommend everything (trust me, I know). Next time we are starting with some cake so we know we have room for it 😂 This beautiful little family owned cafe cooks everything fresh and with love and that's why we love it! Thanks for having us Orio! Stevie, Roman, Em and Keoni ❤️ (probably see you in the morning 😂😂)

Harga Yamien Asin Baso Siomay: Rp. 26.000
This is my first time having cilok and I buy them from @tahusumedangrenyah in Tanjung Morawa.
My first impression is really weird.
The texture is very chewy, almost like chewing a dense gum-ball.
Hard to describe though.
Funny and too weird for me.
Maybe because this is my first time. 😂😂
The peanut sauce definitely got the umami flavour and a hint of spiciness, but it's too salty for me.
My friends love it though but maybe this delicacy is not for me.
Basically, cilok is Indonesian chewy snack balls with peanut sauce.
It's a popular snack in Bandung and can be found in most of cities in West Java.
To describe, it's chewy savory tapioca snack balls, usually filled with cheese, beef floss, sliced hotdog, quail egg and traditionally filled with beef fat.
Usually topped with peanut sauce, dark soy sauce and red chili sauce.
