Had some delicious seafood during my short stay in Long Beach. Saying we pigged out is an understatement. The first pic is from our lunch at a place called "Berth 55 fish market" #foodie#hangry#seafood#longbeach
I obviously couldn't sample all the cookies, but I did sample these four.
I selected the pistachio orange and cranberry wreath because it was made by a pastry chef (albeit a 17-year old pastry chef). I was a bit disappointed by the white chococlate (I hate white chocolate) because it made the cookie overly sweet. But otherwise, it's a good, buttery biscuit, and the flavour combo of pistachio, cranberry and orange was quite pleasant.
The Harry Potter Butterbeer Pudding cookies were very good. I can't really describe it. I can only say that I really like them. It's unfortunate that someone swiped the first page of the recipe and forgot the second page. It'll be pretty funny when they go to bake a batch and get stuck halfway through.
The pizzelle was a bit on the blonde side, but I still like them because they're light and eggy.
I picked up the kourabiedes (they weren't labelled as such -- they were labelled as "almond crescent cookies" but I know better), but sadly, they're not up to snuff. Granted, I live in Greektown, so I'm spoiled for good kourabiedes.
The chocolate chip peanut butter cookie was VERY peanut butter forward but in a good way. But the cookie over all was too sweet. I would dial the sugar level down by more than 50%. It would still be sweet, but not crazy sweet.
There are a lot of memories surrounding these teal green scrubs (shout out CWRU SODM C/O 2012).
But by far and away my most favorite memory is this day 7 years ago.
Something most people don’t know is this is the outfit I got married in 😲. Say what? Yup that’s right. There was no fancy wedding dress, in fact there was no one even present other than the judge and the bailiff (aka our witness). .
It was a snowy cold Cleveland day. We were schedule to get married in just over a week in Mexico and wanted to try and get the paperwork in so we could get married before we left. Well it just so happened the Judge had an opening the moment we walked in and they asked if we just wanted to get married right now. .
It took me all of negative 1 second to say yes. I had no doubts and no reservations. When you find your person you don’t let them go!😍
People ask do I regret no waiting until we had friends or family with us. My answer is no, because we did the celebration with everyone later. Honestly this ceremony was exactly what a marriage is supposed to be about. It was just us, no distractions and nothing fancy. We didn’t even bring our rings! But you know that’s what made it PERFECT...it was ALL about us. .
While it may be very late on our anniversary and in fact I am a whole day late in Japan I wanted to say Happy Anniversary to my husband, my rock, my better half and the love of my life. ❤️
That’s a wrap on #BigMac week on @burgersto! Thanks for all the love 💕 -
