Shrubs, also known as drinking vinegars, were popular in Colonial times. To make a cranberry shrub syrup, in a medium-sized pot add one bag of cranberries, one cup of apple cider vinegar, one cup of sugar and a cinnamon stick and stir together. Bring to a boil while stirring, then turn off the heat and allow to cool for an hour on the stove. Strain the mixture first through a sieve and then again through cheese cloth to remove all solids. To make one cocktail, add about 1 oz of the strained shrub syrup to a glass filled with ice, then a shot or two of gin or vodka. Top off the glass with seltzer or club soda and stir lightly to mix. Garnish with sugared cranberries. Store leftover shrub syrup in a glass container and refrigerate for up to two weeks.

Let's start this week with something hearty and delicious meal like what I have here.
I'm having this #hainanesechickenrice from @sakura_kitchen_bakery which is located in @kedaikopicheng at Jl. Teuku Umar (opposite Clover Bakeshoppe).
They're open since 6.30am so it's perfect to stop by and have breakie before go to work / school.
This hainanese chicken rice comes with generous portion of poached chicken which are topped with crispy fried garlic and chinese coriander.
It also sided with their homemade chili sauce and a hearty bowl of soup.
There's also sliced cucumber and tomato for garnishes.
The rice is so fragrant, and there's hidden homemade chicken sauce underneath.
Mix it up and you'll get a flavor explosion.
Poached chicken are tender and moist.
And the homemade chili sauce is not too spicy and delicious.
I highly recommend you guys to try this out and yes.. This is not pricey at all. Only IDR 18K guys !
