I want to get into creating lessons to help others develop their playing and writing styles further, so here's a little melody/progression I came up with with a tab that hopefully sparks some further creative ideas for anyone trying it out.
I often like to start with a minor 7 chord, jump up a step and a half to its relative major 7 chord, and eventually come back down to the minor 9 chord off the root of the key, while adding ascending and descending licks with some string skips in between to make the progression more tasty and melodic. Also explore your interval options - I find myself often jumping up a minor 6th, as well as sliding up a whole step and jumping down a 4th, then going up an octave.
Also hybrid picking helps a great deal with this.
I picked up this fender mustang gt40 as I thought it would be a handy wee toy since the hot rod deluxe is a little loud for home use. It’s at least 10 times better than I expected for the price point. The cleans in particular are surprisingly nice. Highly recommended for home use. Not sure why it was so slated by users on release. Maybe software problems that have been fixed? Or a bad batch? Either way it seems to be gaining fans now. I wouldn’t want it as my only amp, but as a nice compact practise amp it’s great #fendermustang#fendergt40#fenderamp#gandl#guitar#gandlfallout#guitarist#modelingamp
