Carrot cake oatmeal details 👇
Cook together in 1 cup of water:
1/3 cup oats
1 tsp chia seeds
1 tsp vanilla
1 grated carrot
Sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice and cinnamon. (Once the oats have finished cooking add in 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, 1 tsp of maple syrup, and almond milk until desired thickness)
Plain yogurt, pb, more cinnamon, and blueberries

In honor of “Roasted Chestnuts Day” here’s how to easily roast some in the oven ...
1. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees. .
2. Use a sharp knife to cut an "X" into the shell of each chestnut. (It's important to pierce the shell, or the chestnuts could explode while roasting! No kidding!) .
3. Place chestnuts in a shallow pan as a single layer. .
4. Place a little water in the bottom of the pan. .
5. Drizzle melted butter over tops of chestnuts for a buttery taste. .
6. Roast chestnuts in the oven for around 25 minutes.
7. Remove from oven and place them in a towel (careful they're mighty hot). .
8. Scrunch towel to crush the shells. .
9. After chestnuts are warm to touch, remove them from their shells. .
10. Munch away! They're even more delicious when warm and toasty. .
BTW: The date to celebrate Roast Chestnuts Day was selected to coincide with the beginning of the "12 Days of Christmas". This date was also selected just before we all get totally engrossed (and more than a little stressed out) with all the activities of the holiday season. .

I’ve been trying to get to Big Papa’s ever since they joined TBC. Burgering in the late afternoon on weekends is not my usual practice, hence the delay.
A burger free Friday meant the evening was free, so off to @canterburyfoodiesmarket for Big Papa’s first night was scheduled in.
I opted for the return of the popular Papa’s End, a collaboration with @burnt_ends_bbq has produced this delicious burger.
Very well prepared, these guys know how to burger.
The first thing that stands out with the burger is how soft it is. The bun, the beef, the pork obviously.
The combination of pulled pork and the sauces are the dominant flavour. Prudent use of the bbq sauce was spot on. I like my bbq sauce, but it can be over done. Not here. Mixing with the pork and chipotle sauce made for a delicious mix of flavours, with the onion and pickles flickering in and out of the mix.
All that flavour overwhelmed the beef. Similar to some of BL’s specials in that regard.
This is one of those occasions I’d recommend doubling up on the beef patties. It may swing the balance over to the beef, but that’s not a bad thing in my opinion.
The bacon was well cooked, adding more pork flavouring.
I’ve seen on a previous special the use of potato chips. The use of flavour is open for debate, though I’d be interested too know how the texture would work with this burger, adding crunch to the soft core.
Really good first up experience with Big Papa 👍🏻
