Today was the first stop on the @feedtheworldyogatour created by the amazing Rachel Kuhn! I have had the honor of co-teaching this class with Rachel for the past four years and it's amazing to see this movement continue to grow. Today we had 47 yogis show up for class and raised over $2200 to feed children in dire need. This class always reminds me that there is way more good in the world than bad no matter what is on the evening news. As yogis and a community we can make a difference in a positive way. So I am on another one month journey with my brother my teacher @gifflander doing about 3-6 hours of yoga a day, sometimes even more. The intention behind this practice is to be as subtle and efficient as possible throughout our practice even throughout or daily lives. In order to obtain heightened states of awareness we must have the energy to sustain it. If we assess our day, how much energy do we waste over tensing our muscles and applying more effort than what is needed ? Even for minute things such as picking up a dish, closing the door, walking or even doing yoga we tend to over force it. So the intent is to embrace the Shakti, the feminine and be as gentle as possible. To use the minimum amount of muscles needed to make the movement. I will keep you updated on the journey 🚶🏽
