DAY 2 CITRUS FAST. I remember even before I was vegan, I’d eat like a ton of mandarins in one sitting. It was usually after basketball practice or a game. Citrus fruits are so water-rich, great for rehydrating and cleansing. CITRUS FAST DAY 3. I totally underestimated the power of citrus fruits. I’m already feeling kinda off, real off. Starting setox symptoms like losing a lot of water which usually happens around day 3 of monomeals fasts but at the same time I have so much clarity. I hate to doubt myself, but idk if I’m going 21 days. Citrus hit me hard today 😂

Day 14 if 28 (We are half way there!! ☺️) Raw Vegan with @myaplanet9! Today for breakfast I tried Peanut butter with apples... Since the peanut butter is literally just peanuts and is unsweetened, I added some Raw Agave to it! It was pretty good but I prefer it with the red apples and not the sour green apples. For lunch I had a plain salad, drank a lot of water throughout the day (like always), and for dinner I had Vegan Popsicles and snacked on nuts

Day 4 CITRUS FAST. I think today is going to be my last day doing this. I know I aimed for 21 days but I’m just not enjoying this like I enjoyed watermelon island or banana island in the past. Good thing I practice non-attachment so that i allow myself to listen in on my body and not feel as though I’ve failed. You never fail, it’s just a lesson learned, experience gained. Even only going 4 days, I did experience clarity and the benefit of giving my digestion a break by only consuming foods that required similar digestive juices, which allows my body to spend energy on healing and detoxing. My next fast I’ll make sure it’s something I enjoy a lot more 🍊🙏🏾 #nonattachment#citrusfast

Being around animals is good for both your physical and mental health. Petting an animal produces a relaxation response within your body. Your brain also releases the endorphin oxytocin which has a calming effect on your bodymind. This can help lower blood pressure. Animals have the ability to decrease depression and lift your spirits. They provide motivation to get out and enjoy nature. Meet Winnie, she isn't my dog but I love her to pieces. She belongs to my sister but I try to take her on adventures as much as I can💕
To be honest some of my best meals are the result of impromptu cooking and the left over ingredients from the week. Tonight's concoction did not disappoint. Recipe coming to the blog this weekend.

I used a whole avocado,broccoli,a leaf of kale and to give it a bit of a balance flavor I added a whole lemon and a whole piece of pineapple, just a little of water. Meal replacement. Fasting can be difficult for many people not knowing how to start. It’s a mind thing though. Many People eat for taste. I grew out of my taste buds. This extractor has been by far one of the best of my investments. Doctor charge you thousands of dollars for something you could prevent from happening. I will not use this everyday. Juice fast will make you lose alot weight. I’m already skinny enough. It will be something I use often more than never. Look at the green. Day 84 of #100Daysofselfcare
As I near the end of my self care challenge it has me more concerned about the self care of the people around me. Maybe it is because two people in my family tried to take their life this year. Mental health is the elephant in the room that everyone wants to pretend isn't there. However, our mental health crisis is pervasive it glares back at us when we look at our homeless population in U.S. So many are in that place because they didn't have the support they needed.
There is definitely a movement towards self care but my concern is that men are often left out of that conversation. As much as I rooted in the self care work we need as women I am also vested in self care for men. Especially because I have 5 younger brothers. Not to mention other men I am close to.
What does selfcare look for men?
Where are their safe spaces?
How do we impart the importance that they should also take care of their mind and spirit not just their body?
The larger question is how do implement our personal self care protocols and support or inspire the selfcare of others?
