SHOULD YOUR KNEES GO PAST YOUR TOES?
Time again for another stick man diagram. This time we're looking at why ankle mobility helps us and (spoiler alert) why it's ok for the knees to travel past the toes in a squat.➡️
This whole myth started when 📊researchers saw that restricting knee travel decreased stress on the knee, which sounds great in theory. But that came at a cost, which happened to be a greater demand for hip mobility and forward folding of the torso, which increases hip and low back stress.
Also, while stress is higher with the knees forward, that's not necessarily a bad thing. That stress is still well within the body's stress capacity, meaning you can handle it just fine. So you're not doing any damage by letting the knees come forward.
Here's where restricting knee travel can be helpful. 👉 If you have knee pain currently, especially in the front, keeping them back can be a great TEMPORARY measure to let things calm down. And once they do, it's ok to work back into a more forward position. Also, if you want more glute or low back work, and have the hip mobility, you can also keep them back, but just going to a low bar position tends to work just as well.
So if you're pain free or want quads of the gods, don't be worried about your knees crossing your toes. It's perfectly ok and will often make for a much more comfortable and efficient squat.💪

💪🏼🌹CAN'T VS I CAN🌹🌷Yesterday I got done teaching and my instructor mentor was sitting at the front desk and says "hand stand, go." I've had a fear of falling since as long as I can remember, which has kept me from even things like high hikes, jumping up to straight bars for pull ups, box jumps, and also hand stands😖😞😓This has been very embarrassing for me my whole life and something I am reluctant to share. I often have mental breakdowns when I'm confronted with too "unstable" of situations💀😿👉🏼👉🏼👉🏼He had me use the wall, and kept pushing me in his instruction. Every time I got closer and closer to my goal, my level of fear got higher and higher and I keep saying "I CAN'T!" He said to me "STOP saying you can't and PRACTICE!" 👉🏼👉🏼👉🏼👉🏼👉🏼THAT is when I realized that I was keeping myself from even trying, by accepting and convincing myself that my fears are set and cannot be overcome. When you tell yourself you CAN'T, your mind will not fully commit and in turn your body will not follow through. The last attempt I made, I got down on my hands and said I CAN, kicked my legs up and ✨✨✨MUCH IMPROVED✨✨✨If you don't practice your weaknesses, despite your fear, you will never get better and your fears will never go away🌲My strengths only became my strengths because I COMMITTED to my goal and PRACTICED🙌🏼🙏🏼We all have to start somewhere, and it's just as important to celebrate your strengths as it is to work on your weaknesses. ✔ Cuida siempre la duración, la intensidad y la frecuencia de tu entrenamiento
✔ La perdida de peso está directamente relacionada con tu plan alimenticio, para bajar o mantener tu peso recuerda que 80% es tu alimentación y 20% ejercicio.

Don't avoid fruit because of the natural sugars they hold, they will not prevent you losing weight (if that's your goal)! Everything is in moderation guys!! I have my 1 tbs of peanut butter on my smoothie bowl everyday because I love PB 😂 you don't have to eliminate the things you enjoy most; just eat them in moderation, food is meant to be enjoyed!
"Vegan Alfredo Lentil Pizza"......My first attempt at making vegan pizza completely from scratch. It was ok in my opinion but my brother loved it and he's not vegan. I loved the Creamy Alfredo topping but I didn't like the pizza crust as much as I thought I was going to like it. 😭 The crust needed to be thinner and it actually needed a little more salt. But I'm not upset, this was my very first time making homemade pizza anyways. I'm definitely going to improve this recipe and when it's to my liking I will definitely share this recipe. I want to add this Alfredo topping to some pasta with some steamed broccoli. 🤔🤔 I think I will make that meal next actually!

Real is a word that gets tossed around the internet a lot, all these years I never really understood it to be honest. When you look at social media as a whole you can only carry the word "real" so far. Videos help a lot because it doesn't really matter on the lightning and if it's a story there is really no chance for editing and the sort. Not so much with pictures so what I wanted to do was take a moment to be as real as I can get. No lights, no angles. Nothing but a sheet of paper telling me where my faults are at!
May 7th I was roughly 13.7 but let's round up to 14% BF. Not where I wanted to be but moving towards my happy goal of 10%, I've never had a desire to be much lower than that. Fast forward a few months and I wind up in a hospital, fast forward another month and I talk the hospital in to setting me up an appointment for a DEXA scan. Now I know as with most tests there are some fluctuation maybe I'm a little lower or hell even a little higher the bottom line is 20% is 100% unacceptable in my eyes.
I had already planned on cutting down while I'm still at the hospital but that's about to really buckle down now, I've even flirted with the idea of hoping into the #transphormation challenge just so there is something else holding me accountable. All I know is this changes NOW!
