It gives us immense pleasure to invite you to Exhibition of "THE NORTH PROJECT" ,inaugurating on 21st December 2017, 12 am at Old Range Quarter, Thava Road, Naggar.
The exhibition presents the North project’s concept, works done by North. It showcases the works created during an international artist’s exchange residency program and academic workshops that took place in Naggar, Himachal pradesh. "Kendra"/ Centre:
It presents the journey of North Project which brings together creative professionals, artists, designers, engineers from India and other countries to imagine a "Kendra", a centre which empowers the local farmers, craftspeople, women and young generation.
Culture / Craftsmanship / Kathkuni:
It highlights the vision and mission of North dedicated to preservation and promotion of Himachali arts and crafts, preservation of Indigenous building technique - “Kathkuni”, through research & innovative design, restoration, academic workshops and crafts revitalisation program.
Environment / Local Community:
It also presents the environmental and community based initiatives done as a part of North project, inspiring for a better future of Himachal Pradesh.
Art / Design / Traditions:
It exhibits the works done during the international artist exchange program which aims to bring creative professionals from around the world to work, share skills and ideas in close contact with the Himachali culture and context, and build bridges between local craftspeople and international artists.
This exhibition showcases the future objectives of North project based on site specific observations, first-hand data collection and research work. This focuses on skill development and creating opportunities, which enables economic growth of local villagers and helps local businesses through training programs, lectures, workshops and demonstrations.
This exhibition is organised and conducted by @raul_bhushan , Creative Director and founder of North. The exhibition will be open for viewing from 21st december to 24th december 2017 (11 am to 5 pm). Please pass this information to your friends, colleagues, and help us reach a wider audience.
