#localsknow the desserts at Japanese dessert bar @chikaliciousnyc are more than just delicious - they are a work of art
For $16 you get three courses of dessert which could include this gorgeous creme fraiche cannoli with persimmon salad, coconut ice cream, and cinnamon agar agar
#localsknow that Williamsburg is a neighborhood where German and Italian immigrants once resided in large numbers and we like to think this is where pizza and beer were first paired together
Danny's Pizza has been in the neighborhood since the 1970's and features throwbacks to the former residents of the neighborhood
#localsknow that the main attraction on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx is Italian food but there are other great restaurants too
Many Albanian immigrants have settled in this area of the Bronx and have opened up restaurants like @gurracafe which offers a hearty plate of three different traditional sausages
So proud to have raised $100,000 with our wonderful community (that's YOU!) for our friends over at @actionaidaustralia.⠀
Here is how they spent that money to support their Safe Cities program supporting Women's rights in Cambodia...⠀

In Russia, it's a 'thing' to go out to find mushrooms & locals have a lot of knowledge about which ones are editable, which ones are best to fry, which ones are better for pickling, etc...⠀
You'll often find families going to pick mushrooms in the autumn.⠀
If you're not up for hunting yourself, you can grab some pickled varieties at the local market- it's a great appetizer to go with vodka.
#localsknow this city (and this country) is made up of immigrants from all over the world escaping hardships of all sorts to make a better life for themselves
This mural on Franklin Street in Tribeca is a re-creation of a photo from 1908 of refugee children trying to enter the US through Ellis Island
#localsknow if you are looking for a unique flavor of ice cream, odds are you can find it NYC. We were excited (and surprised) to find lucuma ice cream at the food court in Grand Central Terminal
Lucuma is an indigenous fruit of Peru that is creamy and starchy - tastes almost like a sweet potato - you can find at Jacques Torres' little ice cream kiosk on the bottom level of @grandcentralnyc

You guys...we just launched a tour out of Melbourne that head's to Phillip Island.⠀

Has anyone been & had some cute animal sightings?
We love sharing stories and connecting with fellow cocktail tour guides - two from this group run @nosecretstours in the country's other cocktail capital - New Orleans
Our tour ends at the local bar @subjectnyc where we sample a spicy grapefruit tequila cocktail and a smooth boozy whiskey peach concoction
« So I want tonight to express gratitude to all the women who have endured years of abuse and assault because they, like my mother, had children to feed and bills to pay and dreams to pursue. [...] Recy Taylor died 10 days ago, just shy of her 98th birthday. She lived as we all have lived, too many years in a culture broken by brutally powerful men. For too long, women have not been heard or believed if they dare speak the truth to the power of those men. But their time is up. Their time is up.
So I want all the girls watching here, now, to know that a new day is on the horizon! And when that new day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this room tonight, and some pretty phenomenal men, fighting hard to make sure that they become the leaders who take us to the time when nobody ever has to say ‘me too’ again. »
Sea Going Green promotes Sustainable Tourism through Sustainable Business.
Our mission is to alleviate the negative impacts tourism can have on marine environments by offering consulting services to tourism companies to implement sustainable practices into their operations without hindering the customer service experience they provide.
We believe that a destination ultimately loses its profitability and customers when it loses it’s beauty as 73% of Millennials and generation Z are more likely to pay for sustainability and expect companies to take action to improve environmental factors. Tourism can cause harm but it does not need to. Are you ready to #GoGreenForTheBigBlue ?
