Fun fact the Ithaca 37 was designed by John Moses Browning. It's only significant if you're one of those people that thinks that is important. As far as I am concerned it could have been designed by Joseph Fuckface. I still dig it. #12ga#ithaca37#johnmosesbrowning
Shot a few rounds of skeet today. The 37S is significantly heavier than my Belgian Browning Superposed 20, and my other 37, so it will take some getting used to. I found myself consistently swinging behind the target again today. I think I'll be using the Browning for the league this year. #skeetshooting#ithaca37#shotgun#browningsuperposed
Just picked up this gorgeous 1940 Ithaca 37S that I found in PA a few weeks ago. I'll take some good photos tomorrow, but now my 37T and my others have a stablemate. Thanks to @pewpewgunsllc for transferring yet another classic Ithaca 37 into CT!#ithacamodel37#ithacaguns#ithaca37#shotgun#skeetshooting
I was very excited when Bismuth came back to market a few years ago. It's right next to lead on the periodic table, but is nontoxic and cheaper than other steel-alternative alloys. Bis-Maxx brand bismuth hulls used to fly out of the bottom of my old man's model 37 Featherlite as he rolled decoying mallards years ago. I clearly remember him swinging on a mature drake on his side and cleanly folding it. I was twelve, and jealous.. I wasn't versed in wingshooting yet, and even with hundreds of mallards and woodies pitching in, I couldn't scratch out a limit. Those days are some of my fondest memories. Every time I see bismuth on the shelf, I'm gently reminded. #duckhunting#tradition#waterfowl#hunting#remington870#ithaca37#mallards#woodies#throwback#nostalgia#80belowgunoil#greenheads#waterfowlhunting
A couple of people have asked me about my preference of shotguns and opinions on this brand or that. First of all, I'm no expert on anything. The fact that some of you come to me for advice is very flattering to begin with, and I'm thankful to be able to share my opinions on these things that I love. To anyone who will listen! Haha!
My answer is always simple, and is probably the most frustrating to some others.
My Remington 870 (not pictured here) would be my choice above all else. It's a remarkably simple design that fits ME perfectly and it always works. It can be used for anything under the sun. In the 40's and 50's, pumps were in the hands of many national and state champion competition shooters. It's cheap to repair or replace, and there's just something special about taking ducks or geese with a pump. My first shotgun was an 870. And if I had to sell every gun I own, that one would never leave the safe. A good gun is one that fits well, shoots where you look, and goes boom with every pull of the trigger. #shootpumprepeat#shooting#hunting#ithaca37#remington870#870
1950 Ithaca 37T.
These "Trap" grade variations were the most deluxe offering of the time, and I believe they manufactured 79 in 1950. This one has seen better days, but she's in for a complete restoration. Thanks to @pewpewgunsllc for handling the transfer into CT! Can't wait to get this gun out on the trap field where she belongs.
Here goes my brother messing with that Ithaca again. He'll try to tell you she's not that complicated and needy and that you really just need to get to know her. Or that you dont see her like he does. He's mostly trying to tell that to himself. As for me I like a girl that gives me access to more than one hole.

Drawbacks or limitations to running an Ithaca since there isn't a side ejection port to perform an emergency reload through. This is an alternative method to the previous loading procedure. 11 attempted with one flub. Fingers definitely turn into flippers under moderate stress and this is just dry fire. The other way I feel might be the ticket all though I won't completely discount this one. All that being said I'm still dreadfully slow. I need to train to honestly say I'm proficient. #youstillneedtoaim#rackingisnotadeterrent#ithaca37#remington17#johnmosesbrowning#laserproductscorporation#surefire#lumens#candlepower#hungryhungryhippoes#ithacagunco @ithacagunco
Hey y'all check out my brother. Do you have a friend who likes complicated girls? That's pretty much him fucking with this Ithaca. #Repost @mr_peripatetic (@get_repost)
No political statement here. Shotgun people this is for you. The problem with running an Ithaca 37 is that it doesn't side eject. So doing an emergency reload gets tricky. I picked up some dummy shells from Brownells for dry fire practice. I loaded 11 shells around 40 seconds. I might as well be using a muzzle loader! Frigging slow! Bear in mind it's during the day, I'm fully clothed and I was expecting to do it. I more than likely won't be as prepared if an actual home defense situation happened. I guess that's why I'm training. Which I feel I need to do if I want to call myself a responsible firearm owner. There is a lot more to it than "I bought it therefore I'm a competent user". #ithaca37#remington17#johnmosesbrowning#12ga#surefire#laserproductscorporation#homedefence#slowness#hungryhungryhippoes#feedit @ithacagunco

Got krazy with the Krylon and painted my Ithaca "MAS Grey" or a close approximation of that there of. Why, because I'm gay for MAS Grey. I am a huge fan of the colorway. I used Rustolium's 7754 Anodized Bronze as a base layer with matte clear coat to get rid of the shine. I got the idea from @itstactical. If you ever see any MAS grey kit let me know please #masgrey#ithaca37#spraypaint#rattlecan#rustoleum#itstactical
