COLOUR CODING OF UP-RISER:
The ongoing exercise of up-riser identification and tagging using different colours including colours red; yellow, blue, green, black and white is part of KEDCO’s new initiative called Customer, Asset Validation, Tagging & Indexing (Project CAVTI). However, customers are hereby notify that the field activity embarked on by our officials is aimed at improving service delivery and supporting preventive maintenance of electrical installations across our network, hence the need for their cooperation to achieve a smooth operation.
For the staff, they are to identify up-risers 1 with Red colour; 2 Yellow, 3 Blue, 4 Green, 5 Black, and 6 White colours respectively. The idea is to make the job of sales representatives easier- it makes it easier for them to identify all residents that are connected to the lines of those poles (customer tagging to the asset) to prevent leakages and skipping of residents, shops, during revenue collection. #katsina#kedcong#kano#jigawa#colourcoding

Drug addiction is a chronic, often relapsing brain disease that causes compulsive drug seeking and use. This is despite the harmful consequences to the drug addict and those around them. For most people, the initial decision to take drugs is voluntary. However, over time, the changes in the brain caused by repeated drug abuse can impair a person's self-control and ability to make sound decisions and at the same time create an intense impulse to take #drugs .
The National Bureau of Statistics, #NBS recently revealed that the 19 Northern states of the Federation were under threat due to drug abuse. The report showed that over three million bottles of #codeine syrup were consumed daily in #Kano and #Jigawa states. This is besides the consumption of other illicit drugs and substances. Also, only recently, the President of @thenigeriansenate, @bukolasaraki voiced his concern on the rise of drug abuse in the country. He had emphasized that it was time for all stakeholders to recognise this problem and address it in a sensible manner.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, #NDLEA is the organization of the Federal Government, charged with the responsibility of eliminating the growing, processing, manufacturing, selling, exporting and trafficking of hard drugs. What then is responsible for the current upsurge in drug abuse in Nigeria especially amongst women and youth? Is the Agency properly positioned to confront the threat? What are the strategies that can be deployed to tackle the threat?
In this second episode of a three-part series on 'Curbing the Rising and Dangerous Menace of Pharmaceutical Drugs Abuse amongst Women and Youth', we attempt to answer these questions and lots more. Our guest on the #NASCOmoments Radio Show this Saturday will be a Superintendent of Narcotics, National Drug Law Enforcement, NDLEA Regional Academy, #Jos , Mr. Ojukwu Jude. He will be sharing his thoughts with us on this very interesting subject.
